Just saw a post from the ISU on my Facebook feed that said Javi won't perform in the gala due to injury but that he would address the audience. In the Euros Men's recap article, he said he took one of the worst falls he ever had in competition when he fell on his quad (salchow, I think) and that it hurt a lot but he was OK. I hope this is more precautionary than anything and that his injury is indeed not too serious.

Thanks for info! Sad they won't compete at Worlds. Not sure if GB will qualify spot for Olympics withput them, or they will have to get the spot at Nebelhorn Trophy...

As long as they're able to compete by Nebelhorn, they shouldn't have a problem with a spot, should GB not get one at Worlds. So at least there's that?

yep it was a pogo epic fall. It really looked painful. Hopefully after some rest he will be as good as new. Maybe Nurse Miki can help.

Has anyone heard or read about what exactly Javi injured? He was shaking his hand when he came off the ice. When I saw a recap of the fall it looked like his hand scraped along the ice. Ryan Bradley said "it's a good thing singles skaters don't need their hands to skate!"

Javi said during the press conference that he fell on his hip and ribs. Apparently it's his femur that took the worst hit, but he just needs rest, ice and ibuprofen to allow it to heal.
