I know it's too early, but I definitely can see them getting through puberty well! All of their jumping techniques are so solid!!!

Congratulations podium finishers!

Soyoun broke my heart so many times this season so honestly I'm not surprised with her result today. Not sure what the reason is. Is she going through puberty? I thought she was over it already. Or is it mental thing? Or is she changing some of her techniques?? But I thought her jump techniques were fine to begin with. Or is she injured? Whatever it is, I sincerely hope she will find a way and get over it by the Worlds. Pretty please, Soyoun :hopelessness: So so sad to see her going down like this. Korean nationals will only get tougher the way it seems, and Soyoun won't be guaranteed a spot on the Worlds team anymore...

Speaking of Dabin, she skated right after Young, right? That clean performance, audience reaction, score all could have startled her, but Dabin delivered once again. She is really something. Not the most expressive performer but surely a tough cookie! I love this girl. :D

Dabin somehow reminds me of Yulia before Schindler era. Yulia used to be super consistent but not much of a performer(I remember her being called robotic right here on Goldenskate forum). Around that time, in an interview she herself said that she focuses on jumps rather than performing because if she tries to perform it distracts and hurts her consistency. Then I guess she was confident enough with her consistency and she came with Schindler program, and bam! Everything changed.
I wish Dabin could also find a really nice program that suits her and blossom.

I'm just so proud of all these Korean skaters. Hope they continue well until Pyeongchang and beyond......

Woah, Young You came through and won! Amazing. Congrats to her, Dabin(yay!), and Eunsoo! Also to Yelim for a job well done (my jaw dropped while reading the transcript of her jump layout). As many already said, it's the changing of the guard with the rise of the South Korean babies.

Poor Soyoun, but sadly this isn't a new thing in figure skating with the young rising above the old. I hope she sorts out her issues (mental and/or physical) by Worlds and going into next season. :( Next season will be a vital factor being the pre-Olympic season too...

EDIT: Coincidentally, Yuna won her title at 12 years and 5 months old (exactly) the same year Young You was born! :eeking: Pretty cool. Also, Young You is now the youngest skater to win South Korean Nationals having been born in May of 2004 making her at least 11 years, 8 months, and 10 days old. She could be younger but I don't know her exact birthdate... Congrats again!
