2016 Korean Figure Skating Championships

I'm shocked at the jump layouts that these 11/12 year olds are doing! It was only a matter of time until Korea started producing amazing young skaters. I heard You Young is too young for 2018 Olympics, but we should watch out in 2022 :)

7 Jin seo Kim 202.48 4T(stepout) 3A(stepout) 3Lz-3T 2A 1A(?) I couldn`t count the rotation, but he popped.:( Really impressive program though! Singing in the rain.

Seems like June Hyoung won! Congrats!

It's too bad that it's likely Jin Seo won't be going to Worlds. June Hyoung is talented, but Jin Seo tends to be more consistent. It would be awesome if the Korean men finally get 2 spots for Worlds.

8 Se jong Byun 180.74 3T-3T 3Lz-2T 1F 3S 1Lo 2A 2A Nicely done. Good performance! He really has a smoothy skills.

Ice dance Senior FD will go on after ice resurfacing.

Senior Men Final Results
June hyoung Lee-Jin seo Kim-Jun hwan Cha-Se jong Byun-Si hyoung Lee

Looks like June hyoung will go to Senior World, and Jin seo+Jun hwan or Jun hwan+Se jong will go to JW. Cuz Jin seo once said he doesn`t want to compete as juniors anymore.

Anyway, Jun hwan`s state looks not so good yet. He leave the rink with helping by holding.:sad21:

I have the hardest time keeping Lee & Kim straight. I saw them both live at Skate Canada. And during the practices I liked one short program and not the other (warhorse). Then during the FS practices I liked one free skate and not the other (warhorse). In my head, I had convinced myself the two programs I liked were by the same person. Nope. One of each. And, as I was reading this play-by-play, the same thing happened. I had convinced myself the wrong person was the one skating to Singing in the Rain. So sorry I won't get to see this program again live at Worlds! It is such a joy to watch him perform it.

Thank you again, Hailey. So IMPRESSED with Ye lim's combo. 3Lz3Lo2Lo(tano). Seriously? And she's in fourth?

lol Same here! Not that I mixed those two, but I LOVE Junehyoung's Exogenesis SP and Jinseo's Singing in the Rain FP. Love love love them!
I'm a bit worried because June hyoung tends to bomb at international competitions..... Please not this time please.... That SP deserves to be performed perfectly and get him some recognition.

You YOUNG is certainly *very* talented! I was very impressed with her at the Asian Trophy and I'm happy she was able to win here. Is she eligible for the JGP next season, or is she too young?

Thank you, Hailey Shin, for your fantastic coverage! :agree:

I think she's too young to turn junior next season, but maybe the year after! I might be wrong though. I think she's 11, but I've also heard that she's 12...

Her birthday is in May, so she is turning 12 this year (May 2016).
