2016 Skate Canada Men's LP

I think it was all really close and I don't think it was robbed since there was also the consideration of the short program. I think Yuzuru deserved at least 90 PCS on his free BUT even that would not have closed the gap between their scores.

I am content with the Standings here at Skate Canada.
Yuzu did a stinker of an SP (jumps, not performance, loved the performance) and was marked down. Then came back and did well in the LP. It's like Dejavu.
If this was Japan, perhaps Yuzu would have won by a slight margin. But he chose this competition for a reason. It's a good place to start. He gets silver here, gets mad, breaks records later.
I'm totally ok with that. Hopefully he'll be able to delay his peak till Worlds. Wishful thinking perhaps. Good skating Chan, Yuzu and Kevin. Weeping for Brezina and Misha who, despite their best performances, were not able to climb higher. Devastated for Han. Where did his beautiful 3A go? Also, whyyyy is he keeping this awful RJ program? Put your vest back on!

How are so many of you so bitter about this? Are Yuzu fans so used to him winning that even his disaster here deserved the benefit of the doubt?

If Hanyu's was a disaster then Chan's was a funeral. He got buried.

But since you're absolutely sure he'll get this much for a program like this everywhere and not just in Chanada, then it's no problem, right? Enjoy your party :)

i don't understand why some people want Yuzu to win skate canada skating like he did in the SP and LP. Patrick wasn't great but he did place first in the SP with a decent performance, and his first two jumping passes got him a lot of points. Wasn't great but he did have a cushion.

I give him credit for finally managing to land 2 3As. It's been a long time. That's what saved him here. But doubling so many jumps at this level is just inexcusable.

It took Hanyu, Javier and Chan YEARS to get past 90 PCS, this is only Shoma's 2nd Senior's. And Hanyu and Patrick's programs, choreography and SS are much better than Shoma's.

Honestly, I'm not sure if the results are correct or not, but it simply feels so wrong to see someone winning with a double jump festival (and some falls too). Not sure if Yuzu in 1st would look better or not. Truth is, men's competition was really bad.

better to double triple jump when tired at the end of a program than doubling quad jumps

Am I correct in thinking this is actually Kevin's 1st GP medal? That makes it even more impressive since he did it as a come back! I remember him having a couple close calls and ending in 4th place but I don't remember a medal!

It is! It's his first GP medal!!!!

Once the door (90 PCS points or whatever else) is opened it should be opened for everybody who deserves it! It's not some elusive club where only vets can get in ;)

I didn't even have Kevin in my top six, but I'm happy he did so well here and got a medal!

:cheer:

Why are people getting so heated up over Skate Canada. LMFAO

Not that it isn't important, heaven forbid, but save your pitchforks for GPF/Worlds. :dev2:

Well if it wasn't for the bickering ( "PCS this!" "PCS that" "Arteeeeeeest") this forum wouldn't have 1/4 of the pages it has. Amusing. :coffee:

My call. Night. :bed:

But before I'm going to watch Hanyu's program that I was too much of a coward to watch live.
