2016 Team Challenge Cup - Gen Info/Pre-chat

Mikhail Kolyada replaced Kovtun, according to the website. That's probably a good thing for team Europe...

My fingers are crossed for Coomes and Buckland to replace P/C...

EDIT: Actually I think this is a real possibility...Penny tweeted six hours that she's excited for the next few weeks with a USA flag and an airplane... :scratch3:

Would love to see Penny & Nick! But I thought they flew to US, because they are training there  Well, we will see soon probably.

Oh I didn't realize that :slink: wishful thinking on my part... I love their FD this season and would love to see it live!

I'm super happy for Kolyada, but it's funny how both Team Europe members who got the last places in the votes actually ended up on the team :laugh2:

It would make sense to invite Coomes and Buckland. I think they are the next European couple in the ranking
I would rule out Guignard/Fabbri as Italy is already well represented in the event. Maybe Sinitsina/Katsalapov but again Russia is covered with the girls, Kolhyada and Stolbova/Klimov.

I think we are going to see some tired skaters. Many of the US skaters have been going non stop since worlds, with SOI rehearsal and 2 shows right after worlds.
Makes me tired just thinking about it. But, this comp is mostly for fun. A good way to close the season.

There was supposed to be a French stream and a Japanese stream. But I think both are delayed. I don't think we are going to get much outside of Icenetwork, but really I rather be limited to protocols than pay them at this point.

The actual reason is otitis, he has fever and should take antibiotics. He cannot take flights.

Thanks for the correction! I was just going by what other people said instead of reading the original article.

According to a Russian article, it said otitis media. Which basically means middle ear infection (And I guessed that's what it meant before I confirmed it from a book I have).

I can't believe that Ice Network has still not responded in any way to the many subscriber complaints about being charged extra for an event that is listed as being included...

Me, neither. This is not a way to build a fan base. They should be giving it away for free to non-subscribers. I will not be paying the extra amount. The WTT website, by the way, still says that live streaming will be available to Ice Network subscribers. No mention of a fee.

Well, when I called Ice Network weeks ago, the person did say that the subscriber fee was only for those who had bought the speed skating pass, and that no extra payment would be needed by those with the figure skating pass. So maybe we'll be able to access this after all. But it just seems bizarre that they would not make any effort to clarify it.

All the skaters who skated in worlds and then rehearsed and did 2 SOI shows in two different states and are now going to Spokane to do TCC are making me exhausted!!
I am sure they are enjoying but looking forward to a break. Happy for the bonus "competition".
