whether Gracie decides to return to competitive skating or not in the end I have no doubt it will be greatly beneficial for her personal recovery. Plus it allows her to still be involved with skating without the crazy pressures!

Clean skates tend to go farther at bigger events, where judging is more scrutinized. If Bradie hits two perfect programs, the judges aren't going to bury her behind well-known skaters if they have multiple major errors and/or pop several jumps. If the judging at Euros and GPF is any indication, it looks like the judges want TES to decide the outcome. Bradie has made the most of the limited opportunities she had this season, so it will be interesting to see tomorrow how she is marked against some of the top names.

Edit: Having said that, I don't think she will medal. I do think she can beat anyone other than Evgenia and Alina, because the others can be so hit-or-miss. While I don't think everyone will be perfect, I do expect at least one of Caro, Maria S, the two Canadians, or the two Japanese women to skate well enough to knock Bradie off the podium.

Umm, were we watching the same Euros, because I'm pretty sure that the European bronze medalist this year did a very mediocre technical performance but was PCS-boosted onto the podium.

Unless something crazy happens, first and second is between Alina and Evegenia, 3rd place I feel has been penciled in for Carolina, based on what we saw at Euros.

For someone who can transcend fear and really live within the moment given to them, there is always a chance to break with what was expected of them in the past. If there's anything I've learned from watching figure skating, it's that.

Well if history repeats itself Bradie has a shot at oly medal and usually we can count on one American lady getting fourth. Bradie technically has been consistent. In fairness, her skating skills, interpretation etc. is rather mediocre but a clean skate goes along way. however, the olympic stage can bring weird things from champions falling to underdogs rising to the occasion as we all know ice is slippery.

After watching Bradie close up at practice in San Jose, I actually think her skating skills are quite good. Her PCS areas that need improvement are choreography and interpretation; however her transitions are fantastic and performance qualiity above average.

Under "live" you should find it listed. Just scroll through the listings. I can't get the app to work for me though (clips play fine but live and replays always give me an error message), I can watch via the main site though so that's what I've been doing. If you are on the nbcolympics site you can find all the live streaming on the schedule page.

Tonight in prime time. Tonight is Dance and Ladies followed by the Pairs Free.

Tonight (which is tomorrow Korea time) has the short dance, then the ladies short and then the pairs free for the team event.

I shouldn’t be surprised that NBC/us fed would throw all of their media hype into Bradie(young white blonde princess-y is their favorite genre of women’s skating) but I am surprised at all of the commercials/hype pieces focusing all on her and basically ignoring Mirai and her huge accomplishment of learning the triple axel. No American women has landed one in the Olympics and now we finally have someone who is going to try! It’s a huge deal! And yet I haven’t seen one commercial or mention of it in the puff pieces anywhere. Hopefully they ramp it up as the individual event comes closer but I’m just super puzzled why I’ve barely seen her promoted or hyped anywhere during coverage

Bradie's the U.S. Champion. Vincent Zhou does quads, but it's Nathan Chen we hear about. Mirai's not consistent--so if she lands the axel in the Olympics, we'll hear about it then and, of course, leading up to her actual skate--but right now, the focus is going to be on the U.S. Champion who has her own Cinderella story of seemingly coming out of nowhere to have an amazing season.

ETA: I also called it way back when--thanks in part to Mrs. P. crunching all those numbers. Also predicted (pre-Nationals) that the U.S. team would be Bradie, Ashley or Mirai, but not both, and someone who'd surprise us at Nationals (turned out to be Karen, not a huge surprise, but I just had a sense that the FSA wouldn't want two older skaters.) I really like the U.S. Ladies team--any one of them could have an amazing skate, which is cool.

Men’s is always unpredictable. Bradie, OTOH has a SB of 67. Even if Kaetlyn doubles her combo, she would beat her. Satoko got a 71 with an underrotation call. Carolina got a 72 with a weak SP. plus Bradie is in group one. My guess is she’ll score 68-70 clean.

I was dead on. Perfect skate and she scores a 68.95.

Her score should rise in the FS. Not as much as it could since she's in the earlier groups.

Bradie scored very, very close to Miyahara--a hundredth of a point--and Miyahara had a decent skate. Think what she could with a good dance coach. Seems like she might have a shot at the final flight in the individual.
