We have a thread on it already but in case you want to read from the skater himself: Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sørensen will be competing for Canada from here on. Expect to see them at many domestic events until they are allowed to compete internationally (earliest possible event: 2019 Four Continents).

Their decision will affect their training mates Soucisse/Firus and Lajoie/Lagha most but they all seem to be good friends so I'm sure they'll plot a Gadbois domination of Canadian ice dance soon.

I am thinking I should change my name to something more similar to yours to will one of my favs to the highest echelons of skating success. But I hope I don't need to do it because people will believe in him and love & support him when the time comes.

In all the excitement of the Olympics I missed this: our first advanced novice pairs international assignment of the sesaon! And possibly the first in a long time (or ever)??

Canadian novice champions Brooke McIntosh / Brandon Toste have been assigned to the Egna Spring Trophy.

Ok looks like the Spring international for developing Canadian skaters this season is Egna Spring Trophy.

Matt Markell announced he's been assigned there.

Alec Guinzbourg is joining him.

That's an interesting idea. I did get the impression from the interview Ted F. did for golden skate that Lubov also wanted to stop skating and skate in shows. She might have other plans like with her education or career that she's ready to move on to. But I do think it's an interesting suggestion.
