2017 Minto Summer Skate

Sabrina you're a trooper! I should have watched some pre-novice ladies because I actually did sit through COS' juvenile ladies sectionals event last season but I'm so unfamiliar with the tiny ladies that I am avoiding them until Challenge. :slink:

I'm going to watch pre-novice pattern dance tomorrow and maybe some novice men then I'm out until Saturday morning. I've belatedly realized the schedule is so packed that I'll be missing some junior SDs to watch senior men and vice versa. Same thing with junior men and junior women. Ugh seriously what kind of planning was this?

I know. It's too bad that junior dance and senior men overlap. At least for me, Nic is the senior man I want to see the most if I had to pick and he goes 2nd in men's, and Lajoie/Lagha are the junior team I want to see the most and they go 19th out of 20, so I'll be able to see both my favourites, but I was hoping to see all of both groups.
 
I was watching the 2017 Minto Summer Skate FS and last I heard in Pre-Novice Womens Group 3 #KatherineKaron of #RiversideSkatingClub was 2nd with 1 skater to be marked when the streaming feed was cut off before getting to hear the last skater's total marks. Which means I'm not sure if Katherine is still 2nd or not. But with the last skater making 5 mistakes, I'm leaning towards a Silver Medal for Katherine, unless some tells me otherwise.

Julianne Tremblais skated on River dance music. Pre novice skills still it was charmingly beautiful.

Was anyone able to watch the Senior Pair SP? The channel went offline for me right after the Junior Pair SP ended, and there was nothing on my screen until a couple minutes ago, and presumably what I'm seeing now is the warm-up for the first group of the Senior Women SP.

I got to the rink for the last few junior pairs and I didn't see the senior pairs happen on that rink after. Just a long break then the women. Could have missed it since there are only two.
 
Katherine Karon, for whom I did the "Butterfly Waltz" music, won her Pre-Novice Womens Short program. She was 6th in the freeskate. Marks were very close between 3rd and 6th in the freeskate. Katherine's freeskate PCS were no where near her short PCS. But in the end, on the strength of her short program, Katherine Karon won a Silver Medal at the Skate Canada Series Event called the 2017 Minto Summer Skate Competition held by our new Skate Canada section, Skate Ontario Section.
