2017 Worlds Helsinki Info and Chat

Thanks a lot! But only in Monday?:( I will be in Hel later. No planned meetings for example for next week end (1-2.04)?

According to the following tweet, All-event ticket holders can sit on their own seats.
https://twitter.com/charliebenbrown/status/844893964293451776

"All-event ticket holders can sit on their own seats. Others are free seating"

I also have a reply from WC2017 orgs:
"For balcony AE ticket holders the seats are in the lower tribune.
It is kind of free seating but AE ticket holders from lower tribune probably will sit at their own seats."

I'm not an AE ticket holder, but I bought ice level 1 practice tickets. Does this mean that others can sit in my seat and I can't do anything about it as I'm not an AE ticket holder even though I specifically purchase ice level 1 tickets :sad21:?

This is so unfair, I specifically purchase those tickets to fly in 15 hours from across the globe to see Yuzu practices :sad21:.

same :( I'm even considering going at 6 am but I fear even then I won't get a seat as good as the one that's written on my ticket... this is seriously unfair

I can't believe the event is about to come! The long season is going to be wrapped up soon too after all dramas with a lot of up and down.

Me too. Seriously I am very angry and very disappointed with the organiser.

I suggest you email immediately, post on twitter, farcebook, or whatever it takes to get a clarification.

The implication and reasonable assumption, of picking specific seats on a map when you buy them... is that the seat you choose will be reserved for you. eg. Did you ever choose your seat on a flight, and then find it's a free-for-all when you get on the plane?! Of course not.

And I don't recall seeing anything on the ticketing web site, saying "although you are choosing a specific seat, that seat will not be reserved for you"?

In which case, I think you will be fully justified in demanding you be allowed to use the seat that's shown on your ticket.

Are they closing the balcony during practices? Is that the reason for all this? It's one thing to allow balcony ticket holders to use ice-level seats that are not allocated or while the owner is away... I mean, that's "reasonable" and kind of "normal"? But letting them claim any seat without restriction? And telling people after they already bought tickets that the seats they bought, that are shown on their tickets, are not reserved for them? Doesn't seem right to me, I'm amazed if it's even legal. And the stuff will really hit the fan if it affects any Japanese tour company seats...! O_o

I really hope they reconsider.

Otherwise, apart from anything else, I imagine a LOT of people will turn up without knowing anything about it.
They will go to their seats, and find other people sitting there. Then the fighting will begin.
"Excuse me, this is my seat"
"No, it's free seating, we can sit wherever we like"
"No, tickets have seat numbers, this is my seat, so GTFO"
etc.

Angry people and unpleasantness. It may ruin the day for people involved... and for everyone nearby, because other people standing up, blocking the view, and having shouty arguments are no fun when you're trying to watch the skating... and this is a day people may have been looking forward to all year...

Hi YesWay, I just sent an urgent email to them and following was the reply from Anu Husu-Peltonen (Office Manager): "You can sit at your own seat, no worries. We will seat other people to VIP-area which will be empty during the practice."

I'm going to print that email and bring it with me to all the practices, and if there's any dispute will show that as proof.

They way the manager answered mine and others emails sounded like they have not really think this through all the different scenarios and risks. They are going to have a logistical nightmare. And I'm sure there will be fighting in the audience as well :palmf:.

Remember the organiser mentioned 10K or something school kids attending practices...I think the are giving those balcony seats to them.

Don't worry, everything will be alright :console:

You can go there and show your ticket with your seat number to the volunteer, plus it's a very good idea if you print the e-mail you mentioned in your other post. If nothing good happens then you can demand to get a better seat, believe me, they'll help you :)

We are all missing the point here. People will be seated *in the VIP area*.
Hello!!!! Those are the best seats in the hall, because they are behind the judges area.
So, sounds like what we all would *want* is for us not to have our own seat available.
;/)
;-)

Hello, I would also like to come to meeting at Salve, I'm most likely in Helsinki by Monday (I'm Finnish by the way)

Looking forward to meeting you then. Say GS to staff and I'll alert restaurant. I'm hoping its not crowded because it looks like there will be a few more of us than I booked for.

So, that means Balcony AE holders can ask VIP-area seats right from the start, since they don't want to occupy somebody else's places on level 1 and 2 :)
I don't mind that at all.
