2017 Worlds Men pre-event thread

So Han Yan need to be cancelled out. The new 24 is Martinez at 72.47.
Does anyone know the SP season best of Han Yan's replacement?

There doesn't appear to be any Yuhang GUAN in the SB short program list. Is it Guan or Yuheng LI [who will be Han Yan's replacement]?

If it would be Li, then he'd place 36th on the men's SP with a score of

58.24 Yuheng LI CHN ISU JGP Pokal d. Blauen Schwerter 2016 06.10.2016

But I'm confused. Guan seems to not have been active since 2015 but his is the name on the Entry List as substitute.

Guan competed at Winter Universiade this season where he scored 67.16 for the SP, and 141.85 for the FS. He is the substitute, not Li.

I hope Han Yan will skate at Worlds, my fingers are crossed for him!

Ah. Winter Universiade isn't a ISU comp that's why it didn't appear in their site. Thank you for the info!

As for Han Yan, if he's doing surgery on Tuesday, I am very doubtful he'll be at Worlds... :(

I was wondering about Winter Universiade too. But he did compete there.

I have just read that Han Yan is having a surgery on Tuesday. Ah, I'm so sorry. :( I missed the info because I only checked the entry list and he's still on it.

Sure, but the FS is a strange beast, with everyone constantly doing so many changes to their layouts through the season.

Here it goes, if I didn't make any mistake.

Where is Valtter VIRTANEN?

I'm sorry, I cut off at around 35-36 because I was being lazy. I hadn't realized I basically only missed one person on the list of entries!

He would place last, at 37:

SP 58.22 Valtter VIRTANEN FIN ISU CS Tallinn Trophy 2016 23.11.2016
FS 115.14 Valtter VIRTANEN FIN ISU CS Tallinn Trophy 2016 24.11.2016

Both lists are now updated (SP | FS).

I spent way too much time looking at the scores of each world Championship since 2005, trying to project where next year's cutoff is likely to be. In the end, I decided to go with 67.78... which puts me awfully close to a bunch of other people.

From the updated Entry List, it seems China is sending only Boyang to Worlds. There'll be 36 men, instead of 37, unless someone forgot to update properly when they removed Han Yan's entry.

A little information to help you.

This is last year's SP result.
No. 24 was Ivan Pavlov from Ukraine with 65.20

Two more days to practice days.

Guess/Deduce/Estimate the lowest SP score to qualify for FS at the Worlds.
