How nice! If they can pull off this in competition, it is gonna be really exciting to watch and Aliona and Bruno's efforts for the hard trick would be finally rewarded. Of course they need to make the other elements cleanish though.

Good grief...Karen looks like she hasn't slept since nationals......I hope she's feeling ok after her performances at 4CC. I'm sure she's having doubts but, the best remedy for that is to be great from the moment she steps on the ice. Has she fully recovered from her collision injury?

^^^Ladies and pairs short is Weds. That could make life a little too complicated. And after what I saw in pairs today -- wow! I want to be sure to give that event my full attention. Honestly, those fabulous skates from the pairs today made me realize why I fell in love with skating years ago (thx to the great Russian pairs).

ETA -- And to think I almost skipped pairs because I was so tired! :noshake:

I know they're feeling pressure about skating well and keeping our 3rd spot intact. I hope they can block that out and focus on skating well and letting the chips fall where they fall. Has Ashley been seen? Haven't the official practices started?

Stolbova has an icy cold image, so such her ruthless regal presence makes her stand out and unique on the ice. I didn't like her and poor Klimov at all until this season because of Sochi, but her long absence from the competition made me realize how much I missed her. She and her partner are still not my favorite team, but their characters make the current pair competition very exciting. Her stare at Klimov at 2015 Euros was one of the hilarious moments of that season.

I literally can't sit still. Don't know what to do first: watching practice vids, going on Golden Skate, twitter, Instagram, helsinki app... I feel a bit like :gaah: all at the same time.

For the American ladies, I just hope they have performances that they can be proud of. The placements matter, but it's beyond their control. I hope they just focus on executing their planned content and not fall under the pressure of having to preserve 3 spots.

Yes, Ashley has been seen. Official practices started this morning at 6am. This is how Ashley and Mariah did today.
