Good story about Japanese school kids and nutrician on CBS sunday morning. See link in bottom or in comments.
In 1946, the US made sure every Japanese school kid got at least one good healthy meal a day. The Japanese adopted this idea.
Every school has a nutricianist. Fried foods like squid are only served twice a month. The principal is the first one to eat and test each meal.
No student starts to eat till everyone has passed through the buffet. Little food it left over. well worth a few minutes to watch.
