Agree. I can‘t imagine she‘d sit in the locker room and vehemently cry that she doesn‘t want to continue training for no reason at all. Something must have happened and I wonder what. Well, I guess we‘re not likely to find out unless she herself tells us. Or Eteri... in her usual (distorted) way (of self-denial). Do we know where she moved to yet?

This sounds just like what Eteri said about Adian. Maybe she pushes the skaters to the point where they crack under stress, maybe she simply has no time or sympathy for skaters who are having a rough time personally. Or a combination of both. Suck it up and do your job or get out.

Something happened because you don‘t just sit in the locker room and state/say/whatever MORE THAN ONCE you don‘t want to train if everything’s okay. She was given an ultimatum and she chose to leave. Sure, everyone has a bad day but if this occurs as a pattern then something must be off, don‘t you think? In the middle of the off-season, too. That‘s not a strategical move at all, it must have been influenced by something emotional and I wonder what. That‘s all. Daniil is acting like it‘s completely normal to do what she did and like it’s happening everyday when it‘s not.

When I don't want to do anything... or I'm just passing time ... when I'm not in the mood to move.
so... it's not that uncommon.
but the thing is. nobody has to run after you and try to convince you to do your work.
There're always others who will happily take your place.

I have no idea what happened. But I know kids and teens like to make a drama when the parents around.

Well, I can imagine a situation like this, too. But honestly, they might be kids and teens but they‘re also professional athletes. She might sulk for a while and lock herself in sulking for attention but when given the ultimatum to either leave completely or come train I believe they‘d realize what they‘re doing and calm down a bit. And also, her mom was there. If I was a mom I wouldn’t let my kid sulk like this and probably give up a big chance on success. Unless something happened... then... well, then. But we can‘t know anyway so we should probably wait for more statements.

If it's true and she really isn't putting in the work with training then they could have given Gubanova her GP assigments at least (sorry i'll shut my mouth about it but i'm still bitter )

GP assignments do not work like this, dear. It is first based on WC results and top 24 SB/WS, then skaters are invited according to the list of SB. Leonova, Sima, Mikhailova, Guliakova, Fedichkina and Gracheva are all in front of Gubanova in terms of last season's SB.
The only exception to this is the host pick.

One rumor is that she’s become particularly insufferable and is now driving them without brakes. Whatever’s going on, it could be very serious, considering the sudden out of transfer window exodus that’s occurring.

Is it an actual rumor or just speculation? I know Eteri and Zhenya were really close but i'd expect her to be more professional than that. I just don't picture her losing her *blip* on the other skaters because of her departure when they have a new season to prepare. This just sounds silly to me. And Zagi, Sasha, Kosto, Anna are still there so...

Now that some jgp entries have been published, It looks like the contenders for the Rostelecom Cup host spot are:

Serefima Sakhanovich
Elizaveta Nugumanova
Anna Pogorilaya
Sofia Samodurova
Valeria Mikhailova
Alena Leonova

I am biting my nails with anticipation!!!! Six ladies, only one spot. I want to know now!!! NOW!!!!! (Watch it not be announced till October)

Mikhailova, Nugumanova and Leonova are not part of the national team anymore so very unlikely they will get chosen.

If Pogorilaya is healthy enough she should be the obvious choice but still no news about her injury treatment, hasn't trained in a while and right now is enjoying her honeymoon so she won't be ready. We don't want another SC disaster.

So it comes down between Samodurova and Sakahnovich only. I think Sofia has the edge thanks to the Mishin lobbying.
