2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

If Eteri was lying about this situation (about Alina), why Zhenya did not refute? It's nothing shameful about this. And she just could refer to Dudakov and Daniel - they were all the time beside her after leaving the ice and in KiK. They must heard everything. Here:

She could just say - "ask them" when she answered the journalists' question about this situation.
By the way, on 55.36 Zhenya says to Eteri: "(now you have) Olympic champion, I congratulate you" with sarcastic intonations. Eteri's face became alarmed. Between them begin the altercation. I think that Zhenya did not have a sporting attitude - she began to perceive herself as a star.

I think the interpretation depends of the person who is doing it because Zhenya’s Russian fans say that at the moment you’re pointing Evgenia is saying « I did everything I could » and Eteri answers « That’s not true » (so nice to say to someone who didn’t achieve her dreams). So if you have actual facts and not speculations then I’ll agree maybe.

tars, we have very different opinions but I do appreciate this diversity and respect your words. The only thing that I don't add up is the argument about being a good example for the younger generation. You said, you respect Ashley W...but hey, she was bashing Alina publicly during her Olympic FS on Twitter

Yes, Zhenya really say « I did everything I could », but a little later, and Eteri did not say this. More precisely, it's not the correct interpretation - Eteri really ended their conversation with the words "I do not agree with you" (it's clearly audible in another video), but it was not answer to these Zhenya's words.

I don't know what Evgenia is saying at 55:36 it's not clear to me (maybe she says what Orlov claims), but to be precise "I did everything I could" starts from 55:46, not 55:36. So she says something at 55:36 but it's not clear.

That's bold statement. Borderline defamatory.

Lollll

You: Zhenya is unsportsmanlike and wanted to stop Alina -> no proof but Eteri said so
You: I accept this as fact

Someone: Eteri badmouths her former students -> actual proof she’s done it plenty of times
You: defamation!

Wait wait, I think I wasn’t clear. What I was trying to say is that you cannot deduct a lot from a video where you only hear bits of conversation, that’s all. I really do not wish to analyse it.

So she says something at 55:36 but it's not clear.

"Олимпийская чемпионка" (Olympic champion) - weak, but you can hear at 55.38
"поздравляю" (my congratulations) -really distinctly reads on the lips, at 55.40

I repeat the main argument: If Eteri was lying about this situation (about Alina), why Zhenya did not refute?

I don’t know. Maybe the problem is actually deeper than we know and very personal. Maybe she didn’t want to take this conflict to a bigger level, risking that her name would just be associated with Eteri for a long time. There’s a lot of possibilities, it’s not because she didn’t answer that she’s guilty. I actually liked that she didn’t answer to her ex coach, not engaging in this conflict might have been the best option.

What would be the point? Haters still gonna hate her, fans will still be her fans and those former fans that were quick to believe in Eteri's words wouldn't change their minds :confused2: People are gonna believe what they want to believe after all

The thing is, if you think about it logically many of the arguments here don‘t even make sense. Zhenya is not even setting a bad example for younger generations because she never said anything bad about Alina for anyone in public to hear. She congratulated her and hugged her in the moment of her greatest defeat. If you want to have a skater who‘s set a bad example, it‘d probably be Ashley Wagner. What she said about Alina during the Olympics was not very nice at all and she did it publicly, just after Alina won.
I‘m not trying to actually defend the words Zhenya said, though: They are bad. But well, I say it again: She did not intend for anything bad about Alina to go public. She was emotional, very much so, sad and generally just stressed out by everything. If you have never said something you later regretted to a person you trusted ultimately in a moment when emotions were running high... well, then you’re probably a saint. But I don‘t think that‘s true, if you stop denying yourself that. We all did and said stupid things. It‘s a part of life. It’s a part of learning. Nobody of us is perfect. Zhenya isn’t and Eteri isn‘t. They BOTH made mistakes regarding this parting of ways. Neither of them is without fault. And we, as fans will never know the true story anyway.

Unconvincing, sorry. It was enough for her to calmly and firmly answer - "Ask other coaches about that - they were around all the time. No more comments" - it would be a hammer blow!
But the most importantly - Eteri, knowing that Zhenya could answer so, would never dare to lie so horribly.

Thirdly, what bothers me more than lack of sweetness in the forum is top athlete in the sport setting bad example for next generations in regard to fair competition against her greatest rival.

What has Evgenia done wrong in regard to a fair competition? Nothing
The next generation likes her.

What bother me is Eteri´s history in regard to her skater who left her. In my opinion the telephone conversation on Channel One was not an emotional outburst from an adult women. It was a clear attack to discredit her former student(It was planned). She said two month before the attack: "she´s a daughter for me". Which mother does something like that to her daughter on television?

Eteri also said:" I found it out on television that Evgenia left her". But one week before her vk channel started to stop posting Zhenya news and pictures? Who is telling here the truth? Eteri definetly not 100%.

What would be the point? Haters still gonna hate her, fans will still be her fans and those former fans that were quick to believe in Eteri's words wouldn't change their minds :confused2: People are gonna believe what they want to believe after all

This is a polar vision. In addition to haters and "fans", there are many adequate follower who were shocked.

I think you right, most likely she says "Nu u vas eist olimpiskaya chempionka, pazdravliau" "(but) you have an Olympic champion, congratulations"

But maybe I'm wrong.

Sorry but your point of you doesn’t convince me neither. Then, we agree to disagree. But it’s alright, really, as long as we keep being respectful.

I repeat the main argument: If Eteri was lying about this situation (about Alina), why Zhenya did not refute?

Perhaps she didn't want to get into an argument with her former coach where she could say even more lies about her...
Perhaps her agent told her to stop all communication with her (which would also explain the messages)...

I think you right, most likely she says "Nu u vas eist olimpiskaya chempionka, pazdravliau" "(but) you have an Olympic champion, congratulations"

But maybe I'm wrong.

I hear absolutely the same :) Only - "well... you have an Olympic champion, congratulations", "ну" translates as "well"
