2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Under a season with Tutberidze Nastya was 1 JGP Zagreb, 3 JGP Croatia, 3 JGPF Japan. PB 199.64. Yamashita at JWC has 195.17, Konstantinova 186.35. In fact, during the season she was brought to #3 of the World J Top. We wish her success. Let her remember the main thing - frequent change of coaches does not lead to good.

I think it's not bad when good skaters are more spread out among different coaches. Eteri has all the top ones anyway.
And what do you think the reason for that is?
Anna Shcherbakova - A 10.5-year-old girl with no triple jumps.
Alena Kostornaya - A 13-year-old girl who was 18th at Moscow's championships, PB 175
Alina Zagitova - A 12-year-old... Who? Junior PB 122...?

I think it's pretty thankless in a way. "Okay, thanks for making me consistent and increasing my status tenfold from what it was. See ya".

It's pretty rare that a top top girl would just go to train under Eteri and she'd just happen to have said top girl. The skater's a top girl because of training under Eteri.

is he really? I can't find any recent video with him.
Volkov and 16 kids were transferred to Plushenko Academy to release the ice for Tutberidze Team. Now she has 24 students - 21 RusFed, 2 Georgia, 1 Kazakhstan + some girls from China and Philippines. The new Olympic cycle requires more ice. RFFSS wants to transfer to her 3 couples.

Tbh Tarakanova went from the top novice winning both elder and younger nationals to being seventh at nationals. Regardless of how inconsistent she was she was outperforming both Trusova and Scherbakova. If anything she has regressed under Eteri as her content hasnt gone up in technical components and she’s no longer number one and instead is in like seventh

But is it better to be consistent internationally and usually medal or be inconsistent and sometimes win but sometimes bomb off the podium?

Remember Anna was injured in the winter of the 16-17 season with a broken arm. Before her injury, she won the 2 etaps, one with a score of 195. Tarakanova outdid her afterwards, yes, but I'd say that Anna wasn't 100% after her injury until FFKK.

As for Trusova, I hope you remember she was 4th at Russian national championships. Tarakanova was 14th.

You are cherry picking competitions where Tarakanova did well at - The point is that Tarakanova gained a lot of consistency. I don't think I said that her best case scenario last season was bad. But it just happened once in a blue moon.

I wish Tarakanova all the best in her new adventure, I hope she will be healthy and have a really good season ❤️ Good luck Nastya!

yes. I read it.
BUT. Plush's account is posting videos every single day. There were no videos with Volkov or any of his students.
Which is why i questioned if he's still there.
There hasn't been any info on Volkov moving somewhere else.

As to why Nastya left, I think Polina may provide an indication.

Yes, you are right. I recognized they post videos on the little students mostly. We didn't see videos on Adelina for example or Samoylov.

I believe Plush must stay at home and work with the pupils continously.
