2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

If nationals are the main criteria then then blatant CSKA bias needs to stop because it’s ridiculous already but even more so when nationals are so heavily weighted

Lol but this has shown that the fed doesn't care about past international showing

Therefore your argument does not stand. Same gies for Tarakanova. Current JGP bronze seem to mean nothing to the Fed.
And I definitely would not consider this as poor international results.

Well... you can't just deny that the fed has choose to not give to her a second GP, because of that result, without caring about her past silver at JGPF. The selection for who deserve a second GP actually depends only on the placement of the first GP skated, for the russian junior ladies.

Then, Gubanova did good on both nationals and junior nationals, but the fed choose to overscore, or you can say place, Konstantinova over her on both, even if she did a bad SP on both the competitions. Why ? Beats me. I'm just saying that Gubanova started badly her season, and then she was robbed.

For Tarakanova is different, because she build reputation, but then has lose her chance at junior nationals, even if i think that was underscored on the SP, but she did some mistakes and uncertainties on the FS.

Too many thoughts thrown and cut so that it's hard to understand what was that about. The only one that I understood is arguable. It is that the attacks on Eteri that her junior skaters never make it to successful seniors are biased. And his reasoning is that in the NA it is the same - many talented youngsters who never make it. I don't follow 10 year kids - may be there are some talents for their age. But once we get to juniors it is more than obvious that over the last several seasons the advantage of Russian girls over the NA ones is overwhelming.

Another view that I have always supported is that the hate Eteri attracts here is unfair and driven by jealosy covered by good intentions. But it is the same in Russia: her success and what she says irritate many people - TAT for example. Nothing new.

Jealousy about Eteri‘s success? Here? What would we be jealous of? The users here are spending hours on end to discuss the Russian ladies, why would we be jealous if they achieve something? We want them to be successful, otherwise we wouldn‘t be in this thread. Eteri is a fundamental part of Russia‘s success in ladies skating over the last years. She must do something right considering how many ladies go to her and succeed after working only a short time with her. However, that doesn‘t mean we should take everything she does with a smile and an approving nod just because she‘s „empress Eteri“. I think that especially if someone’s as successful as her, they should be questioned. We‘re just worried at what cost she might achieve these incredible feats because we care about the fate of these girls. And nope, that‘s not false concern, at least not for me and I guess not for the majority here either. And it‘s not like we don‘t have reasons to question her. Excuse me, but a woman that gushes about a 15 year old girl praising her determination because she „can live for days only by powdered nutritions“ and said girl later suffers from an eating disorder, constantly bashes students after they leave is hardly innocent. Yes, she is a good coach but some of her actions aren‘t morally tolerable and I think this should be pointed out. That‘s not hate or anything it‘s just the truth.

He's very bad at english, both writing and reading, therefore he often misunderstands what people write and quickly jumps to wrong conclusions, sometimes very funny ones. I wouldn't take him seriously

Uhm, I've never found that his English is poor. Quite the opposite...

And I believe he is very sincere...

But he is fairly cynical about folks having agendas behind their points, and may read too much into people's messages in my view....

That said, it can be hard to have good communication across the large cultural differences from Russia to North America...

And it's one of the reasons I follow this thread but don't post often...

It's hard for me to get across my own very sincerely mixed feelings about Eteri's program without being seen as having a "hidden agenda."

And that's plainly sad and ridiculous. :rolleye: Post whatever you want, IMO. The people on this website who read way too much into things are wasting their own time. Who cares? I think you're usually a rational poster.

idk.. some Shelepen's students
what i like about this video is the boy being like "well, that's gonna be easy" at the beginning, and in just two seconds he's like "STOP IT PLZ"

Boys underestimating the girls again
OT: I think I need to just stay in this thread, so post more in here everyone!

Just a little junior statistics on ladies and how well they transition to seniors. I really don't see where the stuff about russian juniors comes from, since, if anything, they are better.

GP medalists by country:
(seasons 05-06 to 14-15, 10 seasons. Not taking more recent stuff because the 15-16 juniors didnt really had time to properly transition into seniors).
the skaters marker with *** later medalled at senior GPs, GPF or Worlds (not counting Euros/4CC because both are fairly weird depending on who goes there and who skips it)

Really interesting, thanks moriel! I think it's also interesting to see how many Russian ladies have medaled on the JGP, even who we would call no-names. They are all quite talented, it would appear :) and it's just getting better

I don't understand the point of this article. Google translate made a horrible job. :confused2:
This blogger is one of Zhenya's haters. I don't suggest to read sports.ru there is a lot of inappropriate bloggers. I read his blog, there's also the humiliation of American and canadian skaters and coaches.

Really just seems like an Osmond fan who likes Osmond and only Osmond, which is a shame because there's so many talented ladies to support in addition to Osmond...
