2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

i should have guessed lol :slink: he's doing fine on his own tho lmao he has many olympic & world medals under his belt.
We'll see how Medo improves under him, they should make a great team.

Yeah, I didn‘t say anything because it‘s useless starting a discussion on this topic. Eteri and Orser are two very different coaches and personalities but they each do well on their own. No need to say that one or the other is better because they‘re both successful. Personally, I‘m very interested in seeing how Zhenya progresses with him. :)

I never get what truman is trying to do with his posts so that's why i moved to talking about him and medo making a great team

I just realized that Trusova is doing a Kill Bill program

I don’t even know what 5th element is :slink:

Well Bratislava and Vancouver now have Young You who supposedly has 3A (but fell on it at the Korea qualifiers for JGPs) so I would put Trusova or Kostornaya at each of them, possibly both of them. (One will get silver, yes, but two bronzes effectively shuts out You's chances for the final over Kostornaya with two silvers, or Trusova with one/two silver depending on quads)

I want Shcherbakova to get Bratislava and Vancouver for some reason! Or, Trusova might because last year she also got 1 and 4. I think it’s good for her/them to get the first event because then they’ve got lots of time to work on their quads for JGPF etc

And it finalizes their spots early so more time to train at home

what does BO stand for?
On this forum, especially in this sort of context, Brian Orser, as others have said, but it is also a common English abbreviation for body odor, so if you see it outside of a figure skating context, that is likely what it is referring to, most specifically the musky stench from beneath one's armpits. "The guy next to me on the subway had terrible BO. I thought I was going to gag." Body odor. "BO is going to help Zhenya reclaim her world title this year." Brian Orser. :agree:

5th element is a science fiction movie from the 90s. I thought it was really popular, i remember watching it as a kid. But it was so long ago i don't even remember if it had a particularly interesting soundtrack

Intentionally putting both sasha & alena (their best juniors) at the same assignments before the final doesn't make sense imo, it's not even smart. Also why would the Rusfed even care about wanting to shut You Young out of the final?

Because they want to have an all Russian final. They won't do this by putting Trusova and Kostornaia against each other as this is counterproductive, but if they'll smart they'll put one of them against her as well as someone else who is very good but not necessarily at the top of the list. I could see Trusova and Tarusina vs. You at one and Kostornaia and Gubanova(if she competes) at the other, or maybe Shcherbakova for the second spot if they decide to have her go against Trusova/Kostornaia. They want You to finish second at the highest, best case scenario 3rd or lower.

It doesn't make any sense trying to shut out someone at JGP, because entries can be changed in the last moment. Fed should just give every skater the best chance and that's all.
