Haven't had time to read the latest in this thread. Can someone update me on the number of times "Eteri" and "Orser" has been typed in this thread, and the corresponding number of death threats?

To change to a lighter/happier topic, Tarakanova is looking really great since moving to Plushenko. She reminds me a lot of Anna P with her intensity. Is she considered a senior now? Pity she wasn't at any of the GP events. I greatly prefer her to Sofia.
Nationals are going to be interesting as Medvedeva and Konstantinova did pretty much the same on this GP season, so assuming Zagitova and Tuktamysheva will be pushed more as they're the best two russian ladies in seniors, the third spot is wide open.
The whole post
I think it's more open than that. If Zagitova fails and have a deja vu Worlds moment, and Tuktamysheva misses her 3A - all three spots are wide open. And the Russians have been very consistent with giving the top 3 eligible girls at Nationals the pass to Europeans and Worlds.
I think they will try to save Zagitova no matter what unless she bombs big time (and yet they could still give her the benefit of the doubt because she is the Olympic Champion and send her anyway as they did in 2013 with Kovtun)
I've to say, as crazy as it is, i wouldn't mind to see Stasya Konstantinova at Worlds again, as she was lovely in the free today.

If Liza can make GPF and potentially the Europeans/Worlds team this year after being written off for the past several years, then Evgenia can qualify for GPF and the Russian top 3 in any future season even if she doesn't this time.
The Russian ladies always manage to surprise us. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes in a bad way. Old lady Liza has gotten her groove back. Sometimes juniors go senior and struggle and never deliver on their potential.

As for Tuktamysheva she has rarely been pushed by the federation so if she bombs, i can totally see some CSKA skater being rewarded more and grabbing that spot, but this season she looks on fire.

She didn't have such chance, to be honest. Everybody left her at one point (speaking of her star-students at least). And the reason, I think, lies in high competition at her camp. So I won't degrade Eteri's position to just a kids coach only.

So far Liza is just a cameo, nice but still. And there are so many aspects that make her situation different from Medvedeva's.
1. Why cameo? No big competitions so far. I enjoy her style and wish her all the best. But she still has not convinced me that her clean skates are the rule rather than exceptions. If she manages to skate like she skated in Japan at GPF and Nationals, then, yes, Liza is back!
2. Liza has changed nothing. She is still with Mishin and she skates like she skated 4 years ago. No "rework the basics". Just come back to where you were before.
3. Her problems were mostly because of the lack of motivation (according to public sources). Now she seems to find this motivation.
4. Liza has 3A
I don’t want to sound unsupportive of Zhenya, but this is the first competition where Russian Ladies were entered and didn’t place on the podium...
But maybe time away from competition for a while will pay off. Nonetheless, I still love Zhenya very much. Same for Masha, I really hope she works on URs and levels. She always gets the hard assignments.
They didn't save Lipnitskaya in 2015, though she was an Olympian hero after the team event.
Why does Sotskova look so disappointed about her scores? Isnt she aware that she underrotates? That's really a serious question, I thought skaters could recognize an UR from the ice trace they leave after landing.
Buianova in a recent interview said URs are a minor thing and judges are nitpicking too much. I see the logic.
