Orser isn't really known for coaching best ladies except the coaching change of Yuna to him which the basics Orser didin't teach btw.
Daleman, even Tursyanbaeva regressed under Orser, will Med fare better ?
anyways if this experiment wont work out, she doesn't have much time left, while Eteri might not take her back but what about going to Mishin or Panova ? just not Buyanova. lol

Do you think it was good for Zhenya mentally to be talked about as no talent girl in the media? Eteri was basically taking all credit there.
There was a post-Olympics video where Zhenya was trying to land a jump, failing and then hitting her head against the boards... The interaction with Eteri has been strange there.
I mean, Zhenya talked about how she is now learning to eat correctly... there was probably lots wrong physically. I am thinking that the physical injuries play role in Zhenya's mental state, it must be frustrating for her not to be able to do what she was once able to do easily.

Zhenya has gotten an incredible amount of hate for a long time. When I first came to this website last year, I was surprised by some of the things being said about her.
Most top skaters don't get nearly the level of vitriol thrown over them as her. It's well beyond a normal level for a famous skater.

but tyranny and hard training regimen is the only way she will survive in russia's deep ladies field.
its the same in russia's rhyhtmic gymnastics deep field, they have many personal coaches under one head coach and nobody complains.
Strange to me that the lady that was doing an infinite amount of triple triple triple combinations can't do one singe triple triple combination in competition.
But in all honesty, Orser's team isn't doing something right when it comes to competition phase. Hopefully the break between now and nationals does her good.

I hope this will change this season: Tuktamysheva, Samodurova and Gulyakova look really strong this season and far more prepared than the other russians in seniors (including Zagitova who won both events but with essentially only 1 clean performance which is the SP at the Rostelecom Cup).
He's the only coach in Russia who brought two ladies at GPF in seniors.
Overlooking underrotations for the others at Nationals won't make any favour to the Federation cause for instance i don't think Sotskova's scores will get much higher than that this season.

Mao and Yuna got much more hate throwing at them at some point of their career. Kostner and Chan's hates got pretty ugly too. Dai vs Yuzuru fan wars were cringed worthy. And don't forget Sotnikova. No one deserves all these treatments from the public but many sports personas got worst.

Some people want Medvedeva back to her old team so she can be overscored again? I thought we all were standing for fair scores.

I feel bad for Zhenya, but she need to learn she can't always win everything. No one does. Alina didn't medal at Worlds as well... Skaters are not machines. I think her skating goes in the right direction. I don't think she wil be all well this season yet, adjusting to new techniques and new environment may take time. But I know eventually she will come back. I mean, Liza did not make the team in Sochi Olympics, but next year, she was winning everything, skaters should be allowed to have a worse season, especially since she had top skating for 3 years in a row. The problem is peopole want some magic solution that will be like right now. And there is no such thing. Both Zhenya and her fans need to be more patient. The results will come.
I still can't understand this last statement from Evgenia. She doesn't read anything about herself on the Internet but it still hurts her so much that she can't hold it together in competition? I mean, it's the same person who probably was the most mentally stable figure skater for the last 3 seasons?
I felt pity watching her programs, but after such interviews... I don't recognize Evgenia Medvedeva at all.

without quads is SP, right? so 74.74 (4th season result between all ladies) is average for you? :eeking:

I just laugh at the situation. I read Medvedeva has one of the best SS! And I read your opinion. This is what I'm always saying most of the posters don't know, don't judge who has great SS. They use it- especially if they want to diminish a skater- but don't know what is it. I repeat this is not against to you maybe you are right. I have no idea.

Alina is undisputed no. 1. Fight for other spots will be interesting, though..
its improved but she never had deep edges like Kostornaias, shes comparable to Scherbakova skating, in her junior years some complained its was like skating in molasses, slow and poor skating skills.
I hope next year Zhenya seeks the assistance of Shae Lynn Bourne for her programs. (I would wish the same for Alina, but this is probably not going to happen).
My personal oppinion on the "tyranny" is that sometimes people mistake care for opression, and freedom for indifference.
Zhenya spent 11 years with Eteri, and was her darling. This is almost undebatable - we have all seen it in K&C, we all remember people bashing Eteri for showing blatant favoritism towards Zhenya, even when Alina was winning. Eteri clearly cared.
So when Zhenya mentions how now she can make decisions about programs, music and everything 50-50 with BOrser himself, it reminds me of many teenagers and young adults I know and their parents. Zhenya complains she was not listened enough, but should she? So far, at least her program choices seem to be very debatable, and a worse vehicle for her than what Eteri's team was chosing for her. I feel that sometimes people forget that figure skaters are made by a team, and not necessarely great artists with amazing taste and deep understanding of beauty by themselves. Some are, but that is not a rule. The fact that one can skate beautifully, for instance, does not mean the same person can pick a tasty outfit. Keep in mind that those kids spend literally all of their time skating, and not developing other skills. And that figure skaters are people, and people are weird - take Kostner who, according to a costume designer who working with her, wears leotards because she believes that her body shape is a complicated one for dresses.
And those are junior PCs.
Even without quads, all those girls have an edge over Zhenya in TES and consistency. And even if they lose their quads and jumps at all later on, each new batch of juniors can slay for a year or two at seniors with better TES (quads or not quads) than Zhenya.

Sorry, but this is the most ridiculous thing what I have ever heard. You don't know Zakarian at all. First: Zakarian is not that type of agent. He isn't a PR agent! And never was. He will bring invitations to shows for Evgenia with great money, he makes choreography of the shows and he organizes the rehearsal of show's he chooses the musics and he sometimes composes the music himself...He has a great international show team( the other skaters not the stars most of them are Russian, but there are French, Canadians, Ukrainians in it) the team was used many times even in Japan shows, too. He likes the extrem skating he thinks that is the future.
He likes to eat with friends, he cares about Armenia's political situation, etc. Oh, I remembered a cute story one of Plush's fans told us she heard it on a show rehearsal. Zakarian is Armenian , David Avdish -the choreographer of Plush program, the Sex Bomb ex's creator, friend of Plush, etc- is jew. They have a debate wich nation has more ancient culture. They started to argue too vehemently. Plush skated to them and listened to them shortly. And after he said: OK guys, it's great but don't make war because of it, please. And they started to laugh.. This is funny but so true in Europe..
