2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Attempting 4Lz+3Lo worth only for the Wikipedia: who was the 1st? Same correct for other "Circus on ice" like having three (different) quads.
There is not enough JGP concurrency right now again A/T and A/Sh in terms of jumping.

One quad and solid rest of the jumping is enough right now to decide the 1-2 places between those two. The one who will start FP later than other will have an advantage to decide for the required risk.

We all know that you miss 3A in quad combo so you're not interrested

I'm surprised that Dasha switched back to her old SP. She knows best of course but it was made by her previous team, so it seems a little strange.

There‘s one question that needs to be solved at JGPF: Will Sasha regain her title (strong yes) or will Anna somehow manage to take her throne (maybe) AND will Sasha be crazy enough to do a 4Lz-3Lo? (probably not but considering it‘s her we‘re talking about....)

I don’t want to That Person who says “she said he said they said” and ends up spreading false info, but one of my friends on Instagram got a comment from someone, who was saying that Kamila (Valieva) said that Sasha was going to add 4Lz3Lo “in December”. I have no idea if this is true, and I don’t know if Kamila even talks to the FS community on Instagram, but...it’s possible? Maybe it’s true? That would be insane.

Have you seen the clip of her training it?

I’m not sure if Sasha will actually go for it or not but IMO the whole thing =

I am afraid - no. The only way would be if couple of skaters withdraws - which is nearly impossible. On other hand, realistically speaking, it's also impossible for her even in perfect form to earn her place in EU/Worlds team - considering all usual politicking and artificial judging at nationals where all favorites are determined long before the event. So, why bother? It's more important for her to get high enough international best score to get GP spots next season.

Well didn’t Serafima’s top 8 placement at Russian Nats last season secure her funding on the National Team for training purposes? There is more on than line than just the world team for the skaters as far as I know.

Correct me if I‘m wrong but isn‘t Nationals served for determining funding as well? Sima is in good form at the moment, in contrast to many Russian ladies on the GP series this season. Panenkova, Tsurskaya, Radionova (if she attends)... she could beat them all and earn herself some financial support for next year with a good skate. I don‘t think it‘s about Worlds or Euros team for Sima but rather getting good enough scores to be assigned a GP + earning some financial support at Nationals for next year. And that‘s why I think it would be very important for her and I think she earned it.

December? Well, that could either mean Nationals or even JGPF. That‘s interesting. Not saying that it‘s entirely true or anything, it‘s an exciting rumour at best but I guess it‘s worth talking about. Is it even worth the points or would it serve “only“ as a record achievement for the history books? (It would be a pretty big achievement, obviously) With anyone else I‘d say “Nah, never“ but Sasha... I honestly can see her integrating this combo in her program just for being the first one ever to do it. And also... for winning senior Nationals. I guess the seniors will get much higher PCS so maybe... I don‘t want to speculate so much but it‘s certainly interesting. Anyone who has knowledge about scores and points... is a 4Lz-3Lo significantly more worth than any other quad combo? Because to my limited mathematical information it seems not really worth it considering the risk it involves. But Sasha is being Sasha, I guess. That girl knows no fear.

I'm surprised that Dasha switched back to her old SP. She knows best of course but it was made by her previous team, so it seems a little strange.
I also found that strange. And that she was alone at the K+C. It made me wonder if something was up with her coaching team.

Was she all alone at the beginning as well? During warm-up and co? I only watched Sima, so I don‘t have too much knowledge about this competition.... It does seem weird indeed, as far as I know Dasha is Tsareva‘s only elite student so I wonder why she wasn‘t there with her? Or even someone else from the team. I‘m worried for her, this girl needs some support! I don‘t think she‘d go back to Eteri or that Eteri would even take her, considering Dasha has shown many problems this season and Eteri’s got Alina and Lil‘Bet already as capable seniors and many crazily talented seniors-to-become. But maybe she realised that the old choreo would be better for her as she’s already used to it and it might be be easier for her in competition considering she’s struggling with jumps. I just hope she‘s fine. This whole situation makes me anxious.

To answer your question. No! Adding a 4Lz+3Lo combo woudnt up her BV at all. It would actually lower it since it would means swapping the +3Lo and +3T combos. And since she currently do the +3T with her quad she can backload the +3Lo gainging the 10% bonus of the higher BV jump. This is the same reason why she does the 2A in the first half (after the quads) and her more difficult tripple jumps in the second half.
Eteris girls almost always have maxed out BV according to their abilities so I dont see her adding the 4Lz+3Lo combo. The only reason would be to go down in the history books as the first woman (person?) to complete it (has any man done it?).

Like you said, I don’t think she is training it for competitions. Eteri probably wouldn’t want to risk it and it’s not worth the points. My thought was that she posted is after the video of the sambo-70 event to shut down any doubts that she was “struggling” with her 3lz-3lo. But then again, Sasha is always pushing the limits so who knows if we’ll see it in competition.

I am not entirely surprised, she can easily do that, because she already does a 4Lz+3T with a decent success rate in competition, and we have a video of her landing 4Lz+3Lo in practice.
I don't think the scoring advantage of it is that big, but the WOW factor. The possible achievments - first to do that combo, first lady to do 2 quad combos in one program (4Lz+3T and 4Lz+3Lo) and so on.

I think Sasha will try it in JGPF. Seems such achievements in pushing the borders are more important for her than winning.

I also found that strange. And that she was alone at the K+C. It made me wonder if something was up with her coaching team.

I'm not sure but there are rumours that Dasha is essentially coaching herself at the moment....Tsareva supposedly decided she didn't need/care about Dasha after Pogorilaya left. She's apparently completely focused on Zakharova? (I don't know who this is) now. Obviously I don't know if this is true but if it is it might explain the situation/change of program at Tallinn Trophy.

Well, and Dasha is slowly getting better again. Her FS at TT was decent and she looks more confident with the jumps.

I wonder what this says about the coaching staff then...

And idk the new coaching staff of Gubanova, I liked her a lot more last year :(

WHAT?

Do you think dasha should maybe switch to plushenko?

If the things being rumored are true (of course we don‘t know whether they are but from what we‘ve seen recently it does seem like there are some problems with her coaching team at te moment), she should switch to anyone as long as she doesn‘t have to coach herself on her own there... But considering the work Plushenko (and his team) have done with Sima (until she left) and also Nastya this season, I think he deserves now to be a serious option when thinking about coaches.

But I think transfer time is over already so I guess she can only change next season?
