I hope I don't get slandered for this, but I don't think her new sp is that great? I liked OCS way better. Tosca is good but we've seen stuff like this from her all the time, so I think it's a bit boring. But it's def a safe choice for not losing any points. (But also it's safe and that makes it boring, OCS would've been so refreshing)

I read somewhere else that apparently Eteri and Alina are late because there is some cultural ritual a specific amount of days after someone dies for Eteri's mother. I think it says something if Alina stayed behind with Eteri to support her rather then going with the rest of the girls. Do you think Alina is Eteri's new favorite? I am not sure which of her girls are her favorites after Medvedeva left.

Alina is the favorite. After Diana.

I am glad Medvedeva switched her short program and has a much better one. The question now is does she still have her inner toughness mental toughness and nerves of steel? We will find out this weekend.

I doubt this is the reason
I suppose she has no favorites, at least I hope this is the case...especially after Evgenia experience.

I really like Evgenia's new short. Sure, the music isn't ground breaking but I love Misha's choreography. I hope we see him work with more high level skaters as time goes on. Evgenia is also clearly feeling this program a lot more- it doesn't matter how interesting or unique a program is, if the skater isn't into it it won't work.

I actually really like her LP and from interviews it is clear she does too. If she can go into it feeling confident from her short program I think we'll see it at another level entirely.

I guess better this program than what she did at the beginning of the season. but ... IMO It could be difficult to make something even more unsuitable as OCS's SP.
so... I would take a new one over old any given day.

Now we have something like her old dramatic style + new music + old program's moves + old layout. (IMO this layout 3f3t 2a 3lo is much smarter than what she tried.)

I immediately thought of this when I watched her practice. If Evgenia could give at least some of the energy and passion Michelle brought to her final step sequence, she could really bring the house down

Um... a day of remembrance on the 40th day since passing is indeed part of tradition, but I sincerely doubt this is something Alina would be part of, even assuming that's the reason Eteri hasn't arrived yet. Sounds very far fetched.

Not saying that it's likely, but Alina is close friends with Eteri's daughter Diana. It's possible she stayed to be there for her friend.
