2018-19 Russian Ladies' figure skating

Do You know if cloning of figure skaters allowed or not?

Here we have: Kira Trusova (9).

She looks like a clone of Alexandra Trusova. Sure she needs a lot of post-process work, software upgrade and lot of adjustment but just look at her!
Like yesterday from a clone factory...

(just kidding if any high morality person find it offending)

I think we have already established that a cloning process has already occurred

so who still thinks Konstantinova should go to Worlds ? she has history of doing well only in domestic competitions

Tuk/Zagitova/Samodurova should be solid team in keeping 3 spots
with Med as the first alternate
I Think rusfedis waiting until the cup of Russia to tell who will go to world's. If they really do a skate off there . Than that's were it will be decided

Honestly, does anyone know why Stanislava is so much backed by the RusFed? Not even Zagitova or Medvedeva benefited from this treatment ever.
The same happened last year with her.

Could it be FFKKR needs to divide the costs between the subordinate federations: FFKSPB, CSKA and MosKomSport? So it is advisable to have skater from each sub-fed on the 'team'.

This year I get why they had to send her to EP, but last year was ridiculous.

I think if Stanislava skates reasonably in the free (still worse than Sofia) there will be no skate off, she will get to go to worlds. But if she does worse and there is no justifiable reason to send her, they will do a skate off in which she is judged with HUGE PCS, and she will get to worlds that way.

Seems like we are not allowed to talk about it here, its taboo. Do some research.

I agree with you, its unfair.

Nah i dont Think the worlds team will be the same as euros. They have to think of who could beat the Japan girls. And Stasya doesn't really have such scores. Didn't mishin say they are thinking about two changes?

The past two years this is all that's talked about Stasya outside of her FF. I have yet to see one competition she goes where her 'favoring' isn't mentioned. If anything, giving her any praise is taboo.

You really think they'd do that? I mean, I have no doubts Stasya will skate better in the FS because she's been very consistent with her Anna Karenina this season but still... Sofia will probably earn the silver medal here and besides that she medaled twice at the GP, made the GPF, showed two great performances there and has made like what... a total of one mistake so far? They will send Liza and Alina to Worlds and even though those two are pretty secure to hold on to the three spots for next year (in fact, they have a great chance to bring home two medals) there's still the risk of Liza having been sick and Alina not being 100% consistent either. It would make way more sense to send a skater like Sofia who is consistent and delivers no matter what. Stasya doesn't even have a theoretical higher scoring potential than Sofia. They're on par internationally. Rusfed really needs to play it safe this year, losing three spots for next year would be a disaster with so many girls moving up.

I really like Stasya and she probably earned her spot at Euros (she did skate reasonably well at Nationals after all, even if she was pretty overscored on PCS) but I fear that even if she has a wonderful FS and somehow gets a medal, that SP should be sign enough that she's just not too reliable. I think politics can only push a skater so far. Stasya had her chance at Euros. Unfortunately, she didn't seize it. Just like Zhenya didn't seize it at Nationals. That's why she wasn't sent to Euros. Same rules for everybody. I wish the fed wasn't making excuses for anyone. Sofia, Alina and Liza are a good and reasonable Worlds Team.

Yes, he did but now that Sofia has skated a lights-out SP and is only about 3 points away from Alina, there's no way they can replace Sofia. She has earned her spot even if she doesn't have the highest scoring potential, she has been steadily improving it this season. Euros was the first time she got over 70 points in her SP. That kind of consistency should be rewarded. I actually prefer both Stasya's and Zhenya's style of skating but it would be unfair not to send Sofia. Stasya and Zhenya can get another chance at Universiade or some other competitions.

The Fed is just not making excuses for anyone. They are not going to send Stasya over Sofia unless the latter bombs tomorrow, and bombs well enough to place behind Stasya. End of story.

The world's team will be Liza, Sofia and Evgenia.

As for Stanislava, it's not about taboo. Just people don't know and some people don't want to speculate. If you know enlighten us.

What? That's a theory even I haven't heard before. And Alina will sit at home and do what? Teach Masaru a 4Lz and drink tea?

Why is that ridiculous? She finished 3rd best senior at Rusnats last year. When Evgenia withdrew from Worlds, Stanislava was the first alternate and rightly so. On the other hand, one could argue that Stanislava was snubbed of her place last year at Euros and Olympics in favour of Zhenya.

No one would argue that lol. Med was simply the better skater, and had the results to show for it, from both that very season and the seasons before.

Yes, surely. Because a skater who was two time World and Euros Champion and also won the two GP assignments she had but then had to withdraw from GPF and Nationals due to an injury obviously stole the spot of someone who wasn't even on the senior GP circuit ever before but happened to perform reasonably well at Nationals? I mean, come on. I too think people can be too harsh on Stanislava but this is ridiculous. The problem is, that while she is far more consistent this season than last and has a very solid FS, she just has a problem with showing two clean performances after another. Especially the SP is just too inconsistent. She deserved her chance to go to Euros but this SP unfortunately ruined her opportunity to go to Worlds. And even if she was the first among the seniors, there are a lot more arguments in Sofia's favor.

Yes, of course Zhenya was the logical choice for Euros and Olympics last year. My point is simply that RusFed usually follows the results of Nationals no matter what. Last year they did an exception with Zhenya, but I can't remember the last time that they didn't follow the RusNats results.

I thought it was ridiculous given her performances at Jr Worlds. Neither had gone very well despite her 4th place finish.
