Don't you think that some FS-children can perfectly understand that a video stream can be recorded? And maybe even interested in it (the growth of popularity, fame)
P.S. Moreover, I'm not at all sure that an adult made the video recording (I do not deny this option, but I am not sure either). 13-year-old children are not babies, they are well aware of what popularity is. Their childhood is expressed in the fact that they do not understand what forces they sometimes encounter.
Thanks for pointing this out. I was not aware of it, so I will seek it out and mull over it, perhaps. It is horrible when there is nastiness expressed towards Alina from all quarters and we know that Alina has been and remains the target of much criticism from the media and from certain envious adults and near-adults. (But it is also clear that they represent a tiny, though very vocal, minority of voices, far outweighed by the adoration Alina inspires.)
But we need caution imputing the same levels of conscious ill-intent from children on the cusp of and in their early teens, even though we know that children of all ages can be thoughtlessly cruel (towards parents, siblings, friends, rivals, strangers...) We also know the mind matures far later than the body, only starts to catch up with the body age in the late teens and through the twenties (in some people never). And furthermore, these girls and boys are under very peculiar pressures as (effectively) professional athletes. Some respond to these pressures in remarkably mature ways, others, of course, not so much. As adults ourselves, we have to decide when it is right to megaphone and prolong things and and when to downplay and let the lapses fade away. If there is a genuine problem with any particular skater, it will surely keep resurfacing.
I would say, however, however much we are aware of something like this doing the rounds in the social and actual media, we can be certain that Eteri and the management at Khrystalnyi are that much better informed than we are, so I'm quite sure they know what they are doing.
Well said Gitledge.
Alina envy lives on lets just hope she doesn't care. Zhenya left Alina was like...okay.
