I hope this is enough to shut up all the people who wanted Alina to prove something.
To all those people who cry about other skaters injuries, while bashing Alina for messing up here and there and demanding her to be always be in top form.
Who forget that she constantly skates through pain doe to her knees.
Also, huge shame on rusfed for forcing her to skate like this so they could freely decide the worlds and euros spots. Pretty sure this was not her team decision, since she couldn't even hold her foot in the bielmann at rusnats.

Maybe this is the type of example where Alina says she was rebelling from coaches this year a little. The coaches should stay firm and not let her compete even if Rusted wants her to and she wants to do it, in the end it wasn't a good result. If Alina felt pressure to compete in that state then that is harmful.

Do people really blame Alina? Most see problem in her team.
So not only they force her to compete with this injury.... then they have her skate in gala AND TRAIN QUADS FOR A PR VIDEO.
We know she has injuries and problems. Yet her team seems to acknowledge it only as explanation when she does not skate well...

The coaches have blame, but Alina isn't a child either and she's the Olympic Gold medalist. We don't know whether she is the one that wants to do it or if the coaches are forcing her. If she wants to continue training and wants to compete then that is her decision and she is allowed to do it whatever the consequences are. The whole situation is sad, because it must have been extremely painful... I'm happy there wasn't any permanent damage.

The skaters train through pain and injuries all the time - it is difficult to know which pain to push through, and when it is enough and one ought to rest. Alina is young, she doesn't have a lot of experience, and of course she would wish to do well, and not disappoint people who she feels are counting on her. Whoever else is or isn't to blame, I'm sure blaming Alina herself is quite wrong. Recognising when to listen to her body, and when to stand up to authority, are only things learnt with time. My heart goes out to her.

And potentially her parents who have the ability to stand up for her but may defer to the judgment of the coaches.
Sometimes these injuries look worse than they are. They may be painful but not necessarily dangerous if being properly cleaned and bandage. Still impressive that she skated through this.

I don't think it should be thought of as blame, but I also don't think it is right to take away agency from Alina. Everyone has the right to make a mistake and also a right to learn from it, she isn't hurting anyone else but this experience will help her in the future to understand her body and recognise when to compete and when to recover. I'm sure Alina is the athlete she is and has won as much as she has because she takes responsibility herself, and there is no taboo to do it. She doesn't blame others for her misfortune, doing that would be the one way you will never learn or become better.... all it will mean is dependency on others to make decisions for your life.

D*mmmnnnn that looks so painful. I always knew Alina is a fighter but this kind of skating through pain is just...I have no words. *cries

Skaters usually train through pain or/and injuries, but to see pictures of that publicly- this is something rare.
Interesting who leaked the pictures and why he/she took pictures of the wound in the first place.

New wave of concern. The same people who didn't believe in her wounds are now starting another campaign "save Alina"
It's my understanding that this is the first official report we have received regarding any injuries she suffered this season. What was there to believe or disbelieve before? (Other than the tripping over the wire at GPF.)
It's disconcerting to think that she skated on this injury when she was clearly unable to do so at anywhere close to her usual level. That she performed so poorly as a result of this injury is an indication that she should've been taking time to heal instead of competing on it.

It‘s truly awful she had to skate like this. She should not have been at RusNats with an injury like this, she should have withdrawn. Whoever made her skate there is to blame, whether it was the federation or her coaches or a combination of both. Alina is ultimately the one who has no fault at all because she is a young girl, a minor. Even if she had wanted to skate, there are adults around her who should be more responsible, making sure she looks after her body. I understand that sometimes athletes compete through injuries... but this was a National championship, not a Worlds or Olympic games. There could have easily been made an exception for Alina.
Another thing I don‘t get it how she was skating in the gala or rather: WHY. With triple jumps even! We‘ve seen this last year with Evgenia, too, skating in galas with her injured foot, jumping left and right and it‘s just not responsible. This year Zhenya was injured and did a gala without jumps, only some spirals. Why didn‘t Alina do this, too? And later, the video with quads... it‘s no wonder she was burnt out completely at Euros. I think it’s very telling that after having a few months of not so heavy training, not doing runthroughs constantly and also being occupied with media appearances, she had two of her best performances of the season at Worlds. The stern faces and constant repetition weren‘t needed. They only contributed to what we‘ve seen at Euros. I hope Eteri and her team have learned a lesson, too, from this. Given that they‘d changed Alina‘s schedule a bit and also allowed her to make the transitions into her 3Lz combos easier... Maybe she has. I would be glad.
I think ultimately this definitely proves to everbody (as if there really was any proof needed...) that this girl is a fighter. But honestly, she didn‘t need to prove it again and her skating with an injury like this through two programs + a gala appearance is just... not responsible. I wish somebody would have stopped her. It clearly was too much, especially since she‘s been having chronic knee pains as well.

I do remember hearing rumors shortly before Russian Nationals that Alina was going to/wanted to withdraw due to injury but because Elizaveta already had the fed wasn’t going to let Alina. I just heard this though and have no idea if it is true.

I wasn't aware of this burn tbh. I knew about her tripping over a cable at GPF, but not this. Today I read that Daniil said something about it during the gala, but no one mentioned it here and my Russian is so poor, I didn't understand. It sucks that it happened. I think she did what she had to, and perhaps no one is to blame.
