Wasn't that the burn that was blamed on Alina's grandmother for putting too much of a medicine?

Not for the squeamish and I don’t know how they ended up with these photos (it’s an invasion of privacy that they were leaked), but I can’t believe the Russian fed made Alina compete looking like this. It’s the kind of thing that can get badly infected with much more serious repercussions. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bvldsl_H_g2/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=1viy1pa4c33hm

mood of the day - "wanna cry but can't" :sad46:

I saw this earlier today and it made me so sad
Edit: Does anyone know how this happened? I'm really not up to date with this :/
The skaters train through pain and injuries all the time - it is difficult to know which pain to push through, and when it is enough and one ought to rest. Alina is young, she doesn't have a lot of experience, and of course she would wish to do well, and not disappoint people who she feels are counting on her. Whoever else is or isn't to blame, I'm sure blaming Alina herself is quite wrong. Recognising when to listen to her body, and when to stand up to authority, are only things learnt with time. My heart goes out to her.
And potentially her parents who have the ability to stand up for her but may defer to the judgment of the coaches.Exactly. She's still a young girl, and she's ultimately at the mercy of her team and the federation to make decisions for her. Either her team or RusFed (or some combination of the two here) is really to blame for forcing her to skate on such an injury.

New wave of concern. The same people who didn't believe in her wounds are now starting another campaign "save Alina"![]()
