The bloodbath is inevitable this year. Look at the depth of the senior ladies competing; zagitova, zhenya, kihira, marin, huguchi, mai, satoko, kaori etc. It will be bloodbath all around.

As for men, all the top competitiors except Javi will do GP, so it will also be the most exciting season ever.

in ladies we dont have Pogo, Osmond, Wagner but we have Sakamoto who grown to be medal contender now and Kihira the 3A girl who will make senior debut. Also Marin have big potential but will she live up to her junior year after disappointing last season, id say now she's not THE medal contender, but could be in podium if she does well. Zagitova and Medvedeva have big pressure after all the success so they might falter but they are consistent so idk. As for the men its less bloodbath, we dont have Patrick and Javi. Aliev, Deniss, and Zhou is the future star but not yet big medal contender unless they are foot perfect, surely one of them will be in GPF though.

I think they’ll still be on time IF Korea agrees. They will give notice on the 25th, leaving time to select for the 29th

Yeah, assuming Korea agreed there’s no reason for a delay. Possibly even if they don’t, depending on what the ISU’s backup plan is.

Incidentally, while I expect that Korea will say yes, Italy as a backup would alter some calculations considerably. In ladies, especially, the Italian event would 100% guaranteed be a home event for Kostner (and something of a redo of 2018 Worlds), which would in turn make her doing SCI right before unlikely, despite the Canadian fed’s likely desire.

Also, things would get quite messy for the Russians’ seeming plan for keeping Evgenia and Alina separate, because while China and Korea wouldn’t have any particular reason to refuse Evgenia an invitation, no way would the Italians sabotage Kostner’s chances by letting her in.

Every year, when the assignments are publised, I always say to myself it is going to be a bloodbath. And year after year, it looks like the GP series will be even more bloody...seriously, the competition is getting crazy (which is of course good for the sport, but on the other side it's also a bit scary)
