2018-2019 GP Assignments

I was so looking forward to seeing Caro live! i hope she gets better on time for the Euros at least. Who is most likely to get her spot?

Caro said she wants to compete in the second half of the season... fingers crossed for her!

Will Kailani get one spot?

I will be at IdF I would be delighted if I get to see Kailani there

Too bad Sakhanovich couldn't get one of them and that four Russians couldn't make up for two Russians at one :dance2:

in all seriousness, I will be very upset if at least one doesn't go to Kailani.

Hanul Kim should get one before Kailani - higher on the SB list and also has none. I'd prefer Kailani to get one, but we can't complain if Hanul does.

I think preference goes to a 2nd assignment for skaters with only 1. Probably means Courtney Hicks will get one.

Hicks trains with Kori Ade, alongside Laurine Lecavelier, so it would be economical for France to invite her. And we all know France likes economy.

quick scan of SB list (hoping i didn't miss anyone) tells me next eligible skaters are:

41 Courtney Hicks
46 Hanul Kim
53 Emmy Ma
58 So Hyun An
59 Kailani Craine
62 Matilda Algotsson
63 Viveca Lindfors
64 Lea Johanna Dastich (originally slated for JGP but WD)
66 Alexia Paganini
67 Kaitlyn Nguyen

Hicks (NHK), Algotsson (IDF), Lindfors (FIN), and Paganini (RC) each already have 1 spot

If it were me, I'd give the spots to Hicks and Kim, but who knows what will actually happen (though I do think Hicks is quite likely to get a spot)

Yeah, the selection process is quite confusing at times.
I am hopeful that Kailani will get her one assignment.

Kim Ha-nul gets Finland. She was the most egregious omission from the initial assignments, in my view, considering she was thirteenth at the Olympics.

Why did you miss
57 170.82 Caroline ZHANG USA?

Do you know that she does not pretend?

As for me, list of substitutes for Event 6 is:
41 182.57 Courtney HICKS USA 4
46 175.71 Hanul KIM KOR 3
53 172.62 Emmy MA USA
57 170.82 Caroline ZHANG USA
58 169.22 So Hyun AN KOR
59 168.61 Kailani CRAINE AUS
63 166.23 Viveca LINDFORS FIN 3
64 164.34 Lea Johanna DASTICH GER
66 161.62 Alexia PAGANINI SUI 5
(digit after nation - No of Event of skater if any).

Matilda ALGOTSSON SWE does not pretend, she has 6th Event already.

^Alex, Caroline Zhang is not on the US Figure Skating's international selection pool, which indicates that she is not competing this year. It sounds like her and Grant Hochstein (who announced his retirement this summer) are focusing on coaching and being newlyweds. :)
