Just finished watching the Novice ice dance free - I was so impressed by the top two teams, especially Miku Makita/Tyler Gunara. They came out with so much attack, and maintained that energy the whole way through the program, even after a nasty fall. Really excited to see what this team comes up with next year, they've got great potential!

I don't have an official record somewhere but I think that SP score by Brooke McIntosh / Brandon Toste is the highest ever by a novice pair.

They've been great ever since I've been watching them (in pre-novice). They have good coaches who are inspired by the Russians.

Brooke is a very strong individual skater and he's a rare talent at such an early stage. Bright future ahead for them both.

I wasn't planning on watching novice pairs, so I'm happy you put this team on my radar. I looked them up on you tube. I didn't find any pairs videos, but saw they both skate singles, and it seems like Brooke already has her 2a and 3s! So less need to worry about if a talented young pair will get the big SBS jumps.

There are a few videos of theirs on Dailymotion. They, along with Ripley/Brawley, are good teams. Pouliot/Simard are strong too but their throw was just disastrous. Good presentations skills though.
