Maiia now is in top 24 SB and pushed Tarakanova out ironically. Tarakanova chance to get GP is gone now (it's not huge chance in the first place but she could get it)

I'm so proud of Kamila, Daria, and Maiia! They all did so well, and their programs are simply exquisite 
Interestingly enough, they skated the FS identically compared with Jr. Nationals - Kamila stepped out on the opening 4T but added the combo to the next, Maiia missed the 4S (although no fall this time) but then was clean, and Daria was clean.

Kamila and Daria started the season looking much more nervous in competition. They have grown so much from the experience - they both were bold and determined today with great results to show for it. I'm excited to see what they bring next season. Hopefully they have programs that showcase them better.

What a competition. The field is much stronger this year than it was with great Alysa and korean girls and it was not an easy task to take more than one medal. Still Eteri's girls took gold and silver and Maiia was pretty close to the third. I believe next season she will improve as she did during this one. I also liked when I saw her happy and smiling in the K&C.
Trio Kamila, Daria and Maiia will be strenghtened by Adelyia next season (not to mention Sofia Samodelkina) and their goals will be the highest again.

Congrats to Kamila, Daria and Maiia for their performances today. All of them had to fight a bit on a few elements, but didn’t let any mistakes affect the rest of the performance. Looking forward to seeing their development in the off season - both technique wise and also program wise. Maybe we will get to see new exhibitions at the gala tomorrow? I assume they will be performing at the Champions on Ice Tour (at least Kamila has been announced so far) so maybe they got ex programs like 3A did last season?

Sad for Anastasiya, but this is sport. She definitely made the wrong choice to leave Khrustalniy.
#TeamTutberidzeForProgress is going to remain the dominant force in Russian female figure skating, their skaters almost swept the podium in Junior Worlds female singles. And a lot of price money comes their way ;-)
Will we get to see new EX routines tomorrow? Also with the big FFKKR gala and the Tutberidze Show of Champions in the pipeline?
I agree with your comments. So happy for all 3 girls.A stronger field can only better the sport. It seems like confidence has been building all season, for its a joy to see Daria Usacheva smiling while waiting for scores. I really noticed after Denis Ten memorial that she seemed to smile a bit more.
Also, don't know if anyone has seen this yet, but Brian shared in an interview that Shae-Lynn Bourne will choreograph Evgenia's free skate again and Jeffrey Buttle will do her short (no music announcement for the short yet)

About Belarus' Milana Romashova: she finally came into her own in these World Championships.
In the domestic events I've watched, she appeared as an only average skater compared to the 'imports' Safonova and Kisel', but this week she showed what she is worth.
About Ukraine's Anastasiya Shabotova: this wasn't her best competition and there have been a couple not so good ones before WC. So I wonder if UKR fed sees any progress or promise in her, such that they are willing to continue their sponsorship of her Moscow training costs? As with any 14 year old girl, maintaining shape, form and spirit might be difficult without proper motivation and challenges. Hopefully they don't loose faith that quickly and allow Anastasiya entrance into JGP next season.

I was never too interested in watching junior competitions, but it’s like Ted Barton said: right now it’s just as intense and exciting as senior comps.

I agree that Daria made a fabulous closing of this event. I think at some point I even forgot to breathe. She's already showing such a mature skating, it was even strange to think that this is still Junior Worlds. I also was thinking about her PCSs in comparison to Kamilla because Daria has great skating skills as well. I honestly don't want to start any arguments after 2 great performances from those girls. Their standings were at the end of the day right.

The 13-year-old only stepped out of her opening quadruple toeloop, but recovered instantly. Her exquisite spins and footwork garnered a level four. The ISU Junior Grand Prix Final Champion posted a new personal best with 152.38 points and racked up 227.30 points.
“ There was a little mistake on the Toeloop, but basically I am pleased with my performance, ” Valieva said. “ This was my first Junior Worlds. No matter what condition I am in, I have to come here and do everything I can do like in training, even if not everything works in practice, ” she continued.
Skating last, Usachyova delivered a stunning performance to “Je suis malade” that featured seven triple jumps and level-four spins and steps. The ISU Junior Grand Prix Final bronze medalist set a new personal best with 139.29 points and moved up one spot with 207.74 points.
“ I am so happy to skate clean, but all jumps I can do better, ” the 13-year-old noted. “ It was a huge experience and the atmosphere and the scale of the event is like at the Grand Prix Final, but the significance of the competition feels bigger. I really enjoyed skating here, ” Usachyova added.

Wow, what a competition! Congratulations first to Kamila, a sweep of the season . World Junior Champion and JGPF Champion! I think its safe to say most of us expected this, but wow has she delivered. From the girl performing the Picasso routine at a domestic event on Instagram, to an international champion! I am happy for her, and I am beyond excited to see her new programs next year. Secondly, congratulations to Daria! What a great mental improvement throughout the season! This was a beautiful clean program, and I'm so happy that she was happy with it (she looked the happiest I've seen her in the Kiss and Cry). Her skating is so beautiful and I just can't get over those spiral transitions in and out of the double axel. Second place was really great for her here, and this should give her a boost going into next season. I'm also excited to see what she gets for programs next year. And for Maia, although she didn't podium, she showed great mental strength in being clean after the initial mistake, and that was the best quad sal attempt in competition we've seen from here so far. She might just land it next year. I think she is ready for new programs after having these ones for two years though.

Only a few more hours and it will be March 8, International Women's Day 'восьмое марта' is a big reason for celebration in Russia.

Meanwhile, in Sankt Peterburg's Mishin Cup, 7 and 8 year olds are still competing, well past their usual bedtime, the competition lasts till 23:00

Kamila yesterday said this was the last time she has performed 'Girl on a Ball' in competition. She is ready to move on to new images and choreography, but will keep the Picasso inspired routine for exhibition purposes.

It’s a matter of opinion probably. Not even about scoring potential, placements or anything. For example previous juniors didn’t have quads. And even before Kamila had a quad she was very special. Even the many who argue about Sasha’s artistry and do not find her artistic still found her exciting to watch. Looking at the comments it seems that you have skaters who are talked about whether it’s love or hate, and then skaters who just aren’t very much. I’m not sure how to place it, because I thought Maiia didn’t have the spark that most of the Russian junior stars have and is just no interesting. Before the quad, and now with the quad. It’s very similar to how I felt about Maria. Regardless of if their first place or last place. Of course that is not to say they don’t deserve their placements or achievements because of course they do they delivered and earned it. I just don’t see what I normally see especially in Eteri’s juniors. But of course Maiia does have fans as well so it’s just a matter of opinion.
