Tell that to all these people who always bring up scores when someone dares to criticize Daniil.
I mean, I agree Averbukh can be hit and miss but so can every choreographer. Wilson, Daniil, Averbukh, everyone. And many may find his choreography abstract and with too much miming and weird but I found his recent programs which he did for Evgenia all great. I was always a fan of the miming, so while I don’t think Zhenya will do too much of that in her SP, it’s just funny to imagine some of the outrage if she did.
Averbukh’s over the top sometimes with his ambition to have stories in his programs (but so can Daniil, I mean come on) and his ideas become too abstract, yes. No one denies he has flaws. The only thing people were responding to was a comment that suggested Averbukh was outdated, old and only made terrible, “useless“ programs while Daniil was the best thing that ever happened to figure skating choreography. Which is just.... not true at all, actually, some of their flaws are pretty similar. And I guess not doing many competitive programs might be good in a way, too, so he‘s not out of ideas and can go into the few programs he does with a fresh mind. As long as he‘s interested, of course. But I strongly hope he wouldn‘t accept an offer if he didn‘t care about the program or skater at all.
