2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Yeah, seem pretty useless, where they even engraved? 3rd place decanter without a stopper ....

Some iPods or an iWatch would be nicer gifts, but I assume most skaters already got these, Kamila proudly showed her iPods she got for her 13th birthday, or was it Maya ???

Yesterday I rewatched the one when Evgenia was competing, and they got the same, except here Kamila got an upgraded version

how? less travel? Doesn't RusFed cover all these costs?

If skaters are from different teams you have to pay more tickets, hotels, etc.. Like in the current event only Daniil was there as a Russian team coach. One ticket, 2 medals, almost the maximum result.

It depends on the other.

More than the bronze i think the SB could be key, 179 points is a little lower than the average russian girl (who usually scores around 185-190)

Isn't that crazy... the competition is just too intense.

I'm searching the old thread about the test skates, but like i said there: Eteri's skaters look a little less preparred this season, the gap between them and Panova skaters is visible only with Valieva.

It just goes to show the raw talent of the 3A. It can’t be all Eteri. And we have seen this in the past, not every Eteri girl is successful.

Come on, maybe 3 - Yegor still has a chance. :)

I had the ladies in mind  . I don't want to be accused of off-topic. But in men for example since you brought it since there are two different coaches the expenses are more than, if for example rather than Kutavoi, Samsonov was there.

I don't know if they work having those things in mind but sounds reasonable to me.

Panova's skaters are both 15 years old, quite a difference. They've gotten a tough draw next weekend, but anything can happen in Lake Placid. Both Sinitsyna and Tarakanova are 'battle hardened' and out to prove themselves. Don't count your medals yet.
My bet is on Sinitsyna, who might have some tricks up her sleeve we don't know about and seems overall the more polished package. Tarakanova is still rough round the edges, but who knows what she has been doing since Test Skates?

Panova's group isn't in the spotlights, has hardly gotten any attention so far and might surprise us all, who knows what's brewing at Snow Leopards?

CSKA Davydov is most likely not going to play a big role in this year's JPG, if at all.

Congrats to Kamila! It was a wonderful skate.

And I finally realised who she reminds me of - it's Natalia Mishkutionok! The softness, the flexibility, and they even look alike.

The Russian national team is not as strong as in the previous 2 years, so Maya still has a good chance to get another GP spot.

Decanters as prizes for juniors, seriously? :)

Still better than the plastic stars as medals.

Congrats to Kamila, it was another midblowing quad (although I've seen better exits by her). :clapper:

EDIT: I take it back - it was perfect quad by Kamila. Just the camera angle was weird.

Maya - sorry , but no. Yes, she has beautiful arms, just like swan wings, some of her jumps and glides are super elegant, but her spins are ugly and when she's losing strenght, errors and ugly skating appears.
She needs to be 100% and deliver the skate like in RCF to play in the top league. Can she? Will they give her another chance? Should they?

Anyway, quite possibly the altitude got to the skaters (even clean Seoyeong looked exhausted after her performance).

LOL :laugh2:
I wonder if kids even realize what they've got... they're probably thinking it's a strange vase
Well, the present is for the parents!

I honestly thought it was a vase for them to put their bouquet of flowers in

In my defence it is a very stupid time in the morning. I had to see Kamila's quad live.

While the 3A certainly are very special, I think it's a bit unfair to compare the current girls to them. The 3A are remembered for their spectacular performance last season, but that was their second international season so they have a bunch of experience. With Anna it was her first, but she was already very well known in Russia and had a lot of competition experience. All these girls are in their first season. Other than Kamila, the other girls are quite inexperienced in competition. Especially more important ones that have much greater expectations and audience numbers. It was very smart for RusFed to put Kamila in the gala of Rostelecom last year. No doubt performing in that kind of setting helped prepare her here. The other girls would have benefitted had they been included. And it takes time, with coaching adjustments. Lets not forget Alina's first season with Eteri was much more disastrous than Maya's skate today, and she wasn't even given any JGP assignments because she wasn't "good enough" yet.

Now we'll see if she gets the second spot, it works on her favor the fact that the two strongest skaters from Panova are competing at the same event where they also have to deal with Alysa Liu. (i'd argue Sinitsyna and Tarakanova should have deserved separate events)

The problem for Maya is that her score was so low that surely any Russian who placed third would have to have a huge advantage to better that score. 170s won't cut it. I think Vasilieva is breathing a sigh of relief right now. And I suppose any of Tarakanova, Frolova or Tarusina.

At first Sasha won quite a few competitions with a failed 4S; at some point I even thought she's going to win the 2022 Olympics with a compulsory 4S fall.

Bitter much? Yes, Maiia did not do well here (yet still got bronze!), but you can't know Vasilieva or Tarusina would've gone clean.

I'm talking about possibility.Who is more likely to skate clean you know☺Tarusina and Vasilieva are well known for consistency. Khromych was injured and didn't have enough time to work with her Fp.
