2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

wow,wow,wow :) very interesting

About 80% of tickets sold for the Junior Grand Prix stage in Chelyabinsk

The organizers of the junior stage of the Grand Prix in figure skating in Chelyabinsk spoke about the demand for tickets.

Competitions will be held from September 12 to 14 at the Tractor ice arena with a capacity of 7.5 thousand people.

“In total, about 80 percent of tickets were sold for the event.

Saturday is in the greatest demand, as well as the opening ceremony, which will take place on Thursday, sales are about 90 percent, ”the press service of the organizing committee said."

Saturday is a girls' free program. 90% of 7500 is 6750! These are huge numbers for junior competitions. In fact, the junior girls will be placed in unusual extreme conditions for them. Well, let's see how they handle it.

I thought Ted Barton said the event was sold out 3 months ago?
It's in his intro to Chelyabinsk video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlVJUq6ZoF4

Either way, 7500 is very impressive and I'm sure the event will be great to watch. I'm looking forward to seeing Kamila the most.

You sure love turning a compliment into criticism :palmf: Her leg kick never went with the music to begin with

Well, if not timed to the music to begin with then one can only blame the choreo.

For me it’s not all about the jumps and the hunched way she skates down the ice toward the quad, which is beautiful, detracts from the aesthetic of the jump itself.

Not everything has to be timed with the accents. Haven't you heard from anti-Alina "experts" that she has no artistry because all she does is do choreo on the accents:drama:? I don't find Kamila hunched at all but your opinion I guess...:slink:

I'm going to get hate for that, but watching her and listening to her interviews I came to conlusion Evgenia understood at the test skates, she ain't got much shot at next Olympics, even less - winning them.

There had been full medvexit mayhem and some health problems at the previous test skates and Nats, but this time she was fully recovered, worshipped by fans in the arena, visibly calmer before and in the warm ups and then she got outclassed by 5(!) competitors for national team.
After the short she was hopeful and rationalizing the mistake, but after long she was genuinely confused and sad.

This is my honest observation, but I'm looking forward to tomorrow's Autumn Classic proving me wrong.

That makes me sad. Hopefully, she can work on her consistency:(

Evgenia is a fighter. I think she will continue to push herself- even if she knows how difficult the path ahead is. I for one want to see more of that beautiful 3S-3L!

Alina had a bad test skate last year and ended up world champion! So a mediocre test skate doesn’t foretell doom.

All I really want is for all the ladies to have performances they can be proud of. The points and placements will be what they are but I hope all the Russian ladies will be able to look back at the season and say they gave it everything they had.

It will sure be a nice change from the usual.. and it will be also an interesting battle and hopefully Russian podium sweep.. ;)

What kind of interview are you talking about? If the one immediately after the FS, then Zhenya was unlikely to have such thoughts, simply because she skated first and did not yet know how to skate the rest of the skaters.

In my opinion, it is obvious to everyone - and Zhenya and all the adequate fans - that skaters with a quad or trixel will go to the next Olympics. So... no ultra-С element, no Olympic.

Look how "sad" Zhenya is after her Free skate. Tears rolling of her eyes  :laugh2:

Sorry, but this is the most ridiculous comment I have read all week.

She knew what 4A brought in the SP, where she fell, and she knew what they were bringing in LP trainings, because she trained alongside.
