2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Here is a little blast from the past:love:

Wow, Ted said there then Sasha "has great skating skills, grace and she is a whole package" And couple of years later it seems she turns somehow to mere "jumping bean" judging by what her critics are saying. Ted, what a bad expert you are
Also I begin to forget already how fresh and interesting backloaded programs were looking..

I can’t wait to see the ladies skate at the Japan Open!!!! I’m on eastern time in the US, what time do the ladies begin? I have to watch it right away or else the videos will probably be taken down.

Men 11:30pm ET and ladies tonight at 1am ET! I don’t think the taping will be shown until tomorrow morning though

I think sadly this season is not meant to be for LilBet. Her jumps are shaky and back injury is not something that can be overcome in two weeks.

I dunno. I thought her conditioning seemed outstanding-nice speed throughout, terrific flow. The jumps are not back yet, but I'll bet she is even stronger in a month or two. I loved the program. Zhenya has been sick, but she also looked outstanding in practice, I think she is stronger and faster, and I think she will be strong at her GP.

TES is 97+. From the twitter reports sounds like maybe the 4t was under on the second combo? I assume a couple messy landings are involved cuz if that layout was clean the score would be astronomical

The 4S and 4Lz were landed well. Can't imagine the 4Ts were bad because she put combos on them. TES seems very low, it was around the same at Nepala without this tech. Maybe she fell on 3Lz-3Lo and another pass? Doesn't add up otherwise.

It doesnt seem she fell... She is just amazing. But judges underscored her, because they want Zagitova to win. Look at Zagitova winning with a mediocre tech content and PCS +75

It's funny that, two years ago, Zagitova's tech content was miles ahead of the field. Now it's "mediocre"

Alina didn't win. Sasha placed first. And Alina does deserve a lot more PCS if she was clean. But Sasha's TES seems very low for what she did if she didn't fall and the landings weren't messy/URed. With that planned content I have a hard time seeing how TES isn't above 100. Either way there is no judge bias here, it's Japan Open

Figure skating is progressing, this is a fact. And I think the judges should score accordingly the risks the skaters who jumps quads or triple Axels take.

And so what is Japan Open? Alina is scored based on her reputation of OGM and dont forget that she has plenty of endorsements from Japan.
I am happy that Sasha won deservedly, although the judges underdscored her.
Why is this huge difference between she and Zagitova in PCS? more than 10 points? What is Zagitova doing so special, taking into the consideration that Sasha has better skating skills?

I don't understand the scoring at all. 63 PCS is a freaking joke.
