Hello, first time poster here!I've been reading this forum for about a year and half now and finally decided that I wanted to start sharing my opinions too!
So, my thoughts on our amazing junior ladies:
DARIA - Wow, she was just fabulous today! Not an edge out of place. I've always preferred her over Kamila and I so hope that this is her chance to prove herself. Hold it together in the free Dasha, you can do it!
KSENIIA - Her short program is a true masterpiece, it is exquisitely choreographed. That being said, she wasn't quite at her best today, a little tight on everything overall. Hoping for a solid free for her!
KAMILA - She's obviously incredible, but this program is a little too flail-y for my personal taste. I would love to see her hold her movements a little more, I really think that would take her to the next level performance-wise. A little off today and an uncharacteristic mistake on the loop, but I'm sure she'll come back in the free.
VIKTORIA - I will admit that I really haven't paid her much attention prior to this event. Her style of skating doesn't really appeal to me, but she did a great job today and should be very proud of herself!
Can't wait for the free and Senior short tomorrow!

Kseniia deserved around 32-34 for PCS, I don't understand why she only got 30.48.

They pretty much gave everyone the same PCS. It was strange but that is what the judges did.
Which means that Liu will certainly win this competition if she can skate clean-ish in the free.

So the judges took it very easy this time? Will they apply the same leniency to the senior women, where so much more is at stake?

Hopefully if doesn't affect her progress in the long term, as her age might allow her to peak and be the best Russian in 2022. This is the type of decision which the adults (coaches, parents, etc.) have to make the right choice for the athlete and not simply go with what she wants to do.

Personally I don't like leniency.
I prefer the strict judging but consistently strict, of course.

Rumours are just that, rumours.
No doubt Kamila herself is ambitious and wants to compete if she thinks she can. Her coaches should know better and restrain her, and I assume Kamila and her parents are sensible enough to heed to the coaches' advice (or orders ;-), not to risk a further detoriation of a half healed injury. Now, was it a fracture caused by a trauma or some cracks caused by overload? We want to know, but Sambo-70 medical staff is under no obligation at all to provide private information.
With Alysa Liu out in full strength, Kamila w/o quads is at a TES disadvantage, but with strict calling still might be able to have a higher score. We'll see tomorrow in the free skate what Kamila is capable of. Both Usachyova and Sinitsyna are very capable contenders for a medal. Tomorrow in the junior girls and pairs is going to be very tense and tight, and very interesting. Most of all to see who holds up under pressure the best. Alyssa Liu seems coolest under stress and duress, so atm I think she is the most serious gold medal contender. The Khrustalniy skaters are so young still, they'll have next season and perhaps the one after that still, while Liu probably will move up to seniors at 15 since she has no real domestic competition?
Overall, it was really nice to see the three top rinks from Moscow each fielding their best girl skaters, for Vasil'yeva also competed at full strength today. This Grand Prix Finals isn't all about skating skills and jumping, psychological preparation, setting up and pacing of these young skaters is even more important.
Me too, strict, but even and fair across all contestants, so they and their coaching staff actually get pointers and are able to learn and improve.
I don't know. I get irritated when they call UR's when they are only 5-10 degrees off. And it always bothers me that the TES score I see is building up...suddenly is shaved down with 10 points because of the TES panel. It somehow doesn't seem right and I don't think it is good for the sport. It certainly doesn't make it easy to follow.

Then there is no incentive to have correct technique or work on rotation, if there is too much leniency.

I like her very much! Very good technically, her powerful jumps and skating remind me of Tonya Harding's.
She's improving her performance qualities too.
Very true. And I get irritated when skaters get away with flutzes and URs as well. I'm divided here, what to do??...
