Alysa has amazing rotation speed, yes, because she is only 4 8". Much the same as Tara (who was also 4'8")had back in the day. I don't think any junior will beat her this year. What will happen though, other skaters will frantically work on 3A's to catch up, just like so many are now doing quads, thanks to Trusova. Next year I expect to see a huge number of 3A's in juniors.
At the end of her program, Kamila looked stricken, as if she re injured something that had been injured before, or injured something new. The MC sort of forced her to do the jump again (I think he wanted her to do a quad, but I don't think she understood him)and you could tell she didn't want to, she just wanted to get off the ice. It was hard to watch. Before the fall though she did a perfect 3L 3T combo.
I too like Kamila's old program better, but I like the music better.

We will see more 3As next season. Shouldnt 3A be easier to learn than quads?

Sad for Kamilas injury. I hope its nothing major. She is the major challenger for Alysa this season and vice versa. Their duels in JPGF and junior worlds could be epic. Adding in the elite Russian junior vs. the elite American junior will add some spice and intrigue to the whole thing.
Why strain yourself in the gala? That should be an easy skate for her or anyone. And if anyone made Kamila jump again after she tweaked something they are nuts. No fan in the arena would want an injured skater continuing with a somewhat meaningless gala. Its a gala she could just skate at half speed if not 100% healthy and the fans would appreciate it.

Depends on a skater, for some 3A is easier, for some quads are easier to learn first. Same happens with men, some can learn quads faster than 3A.
I think Shoma learned quads first and it took him a while to get his 3A and it wasn't as good at first, however, after a few years, 3A became one of his best jumps.

One of my dislikes of Sambo coaches is that they seem to not teach or do no encourage skaters to 'go easy' for performances like exhibitions. While the fighting/intensity serves them well in competition we often see them do unnecessary difficult things in exhibitions, at this point they've avoided causing injury or aggravating an injury that takes them out of a later competition, hopefully they don't break that streak. Last season both at GPF and Nationals Zagitova did something that caused injury, GPF she tripped over a cable I believe this was where Eteri wanted to pull her from the competition and Nationals, got some kind of burns or something (people were using it to explain the disastrous FS) but then in her exhibitions was throwing triple-triples.
Kamila's fall in the exhibition was super awkward and she was a bit hesitant getting up, hopefully it was just a hesitation due to shock of impact and not injury.

Zagitova is not lacking compared to this skaters in expressiveness.

Now that we finally have a US lady to challenge the Russians the fanwars will be all that sweeter. I was waiting for this. Not.
Seriously, I do not believe Alysa will be unbeatable but I saw her yesterday and had to admit that she‘ll be a stronger rival than I thought. She‘s improved artistically and her jumps are there. And yes, her quad is URed like 90% of the time but with the new rules for URs and her improvement in sophistication, the judges will not hesitate to give her the scores if performed cleanly at all. We‘ll have yet to see if she does, of course, but acknowledging that the Junior Worlds crown might not be as easily won this year as in the past is not a problem imo.
As for Kamila: I finally watched her gala program. I do hope it‘s nothing serious but she looked stricken when she fell and it was quite obvious that she wanted to leave the ice and wasn‘t all that comfortable with the announcer trying to get her to jump another jump/quad. Maybe she was just extremely tired, could be and we don‘t know of course. But she looked winded and that fall was hard after all. So in this case I can somewhat understand the speculation even though I think we all hope that she‘s fine of course.
Lol. No, it‘s not. TES and BV wise Alina’s the clear leader, obviously no one tries to diminish that. And she‘s been steadily growing in her artistry but she‘s just not there yet, especially compared to ladies like Medvedeva and less so Stanislava (I thought yesterday was the first time that she really brought her emotions to her skating) who had more time overall to develop and mature. It‘s fine, maybe she‘ll be there in the future, she only had two seasons after all and her artistic growth is still visible and that‘s nice.

Can we please not start the fan wars this early? Having competition is what makes a sport interesting. Alysa is more impressive than I expected. Her quad is clearly << for now, but that's likely to change, so things will get very interesting at the JGPF.

I think Alysa is the one to beat; she has the 3A and seems more artistically mature. With the injury that will not help Kamila. The Japanese ladies also are a threat.

Hey, this supposed injury is NOT confirmed whatsoever. Please don‘t make up anything. I‘m not going to argue about artistry now but at least the judges see Kamila as very artistic, given her PCS which were the highest ever for a debut on the JGP circuit, I believe. Moreover, her quad is better than Alysa‘s. Then again, she doesn‘t have a 3A. So it will definitely be interesting to see. But we will have to wait for Alysa‘s first official competition because while the Aurora Games were a first step, they weren‘t the real deal yet. As for the Japanese, so far I have not seen a threat of them for the Russian juniors. Tomoe and Nana have stunning technique and beautiful jumps but they are far too inconsistent. If anything, it‘s the Korean juniors that need to be taken seriously as they proved this week that if the Russians aren‘t prepared, they will be and they want to medal.

I don‘t think she necessarily flutzes. But her lutz is overall just... weird. From the take off to the landing, it just seems like strange technique. Especially her combos, how she pauses, shifts the foot from the inside to the outside back to inside and only then reaches back.. I just have never seen anyone jump like that.
