I'm afraid it may be only Kostornaya is ready more or less among the youngsters. Trusovsa and Shcherbakova look like a snack food for the "senior" Seniors.
There were specifically no information about their progress last months. Likely not a big deal against Kihira and even Zagitova. And those two well above motivated.

Soon we'll see their 1st real competitions...

I've never known if you were a troll or not.

Yeah, there are quite some antagonists, always ready for an argument, treating this forum as their private debating club ;-)

Use the ignore button on their profile, or if things appear to get out of hand, the report button.

Nah it's more like seniors are a snack for Trusova. But it's really interesting how people predict the 3A's season. Some say that Aliona has no chance against skaters with more difficult content while you and many others say that she will have the most successful season. My money is still on Sasha. She has nerves of steel and her jumps are mostly consistent, despite difficulty. Of course transition from juniors to seniors can be very difficult for some while many manage to keep the same level in both age groups. We will see in 10 days.

I know it's long been speculated that Alina and Alyona are paired together on the GP in order to protect Alina from having to go up against the girls who have quads, but I think being paired with Alina is also protecting Alyona. Since Alina is World Champion, she can't go head to head against Tursynbaeva or Medvedeva on the GP, ergo neither can Alyona, plus she's also protected from having to compete against Kihira. I think her path to the final is much clearer than Shcherbakova's or Trusova's (though I think Trusova will definitely still make it) as I don't think she can do worse than 3rd in either of her events. I think she could even win over Alina under the right circumstances.

They’ll compete against Kihira at NHK

I was pretty disappointed to see skaters paired together, it would have been interesting to see Kostornaia x Medvedeva or Shcherbakova x Zagitova. But at the same time it's logical. They paired up the strongest senior (Alina) with the junior who has lowest BV (Aliona), while the strongest junior (Sasha) goes against the one with the weakest performances last year (Medvedeva). Same with Shcherbakova and Tuktamysheva who were both somewhere in the middle.

Aliona could definitely win against Alina. If Kostornaia has a clean performances and Alina underrotates and/or pops like it happened last season during GP, Aliona may as well get a higher score and win gold or at least silver. That's only if they have same layouts as last year. But there have been rumours about Alina's quad and Aliona's 3A. So far, the latter seems be more believable as we've already seen a clean attemt, however, we basically haven't had any news since the end of last season and I doubt they would announce something before the test skates.

It's next week. Not that it will prevent the conspiracy theories or anything, but at least we'll have actually things to argue about. :agree2:

Since, you know, that's what we do instead of debating and saying "I don't agree with you because I think this girl bla bla bla" a lot of arguments here are "you must hate her that's why you're saying this" which is a pretty stupid argument. I miss some posters that used to have good debates. Helped me to understand the sport better in every aspect. I learnt so much from them. *cough* Shayuki *cough* SpiralsForMiles *cough* and *cough* even Moriel sometimes *cough*.

If someone came here with the knowledge I had before, they wouldn't learn anything because I'd say only like 15% of the posts are actually constructive.

:shame:

There are rumors that Tursynbaeva left Eteri group.

I have seen this rumor on Twitter and Instagram. APPARENTLY, Lilibet no longer follows Eteri/Daniil on Instagram, and on the cute photo of the 4As, someone asked where Lilibet was, someone responded that Lilibet had left, and that comment was later deleted.

It's a whole lot of nonsense for now, but maybe it will turn out to be true....we should wait and see for some actual facts or press releases.

Is KAZ fed able to sustain Tursynbayeva when she needs high level training, #TeamTutberidzeForProgress has been good to and for Elisabet, but the logistics at Khrustalniy might make things difficult? Not to mention conflicting interests? Elisabet for all I know lives in Moscow and has very little to do with Kazakhstan other than holdings its citizenship?

And the other skaters that now are able to compete in WC, thanks to Elisabet's Silver medal?
I can imagine KAZ fed wanting to centralise things, but where and under whose guidance? If they even care about figure skating and want to make a good impression or even challenge again in the World Championships and possible Olympics?

But why would she do that? She has improved a lot. Maybe RusFed decided not to allow training an athlete of her level, but for example Mishin could train Kostner on Olympic season with no problems.

That would really surprise me after the success she had last season. And we know she was preparing and already had programs like everyone else, so I'm rather skeptical for now.

This is also just speculation but maybe she has an injury? The group was also deleting comments about Alena when she had an injury until official statements were made.

Also, there are a lot of pics of just the 4A - they are the 4 seniors from team Russia. It’s crazy how a picture without Elizabet should leads to so much speculation. Maybe she did leave. If so, I’m sure we will find out soon.
