2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

I would be pretty shocked if Tursynbaeva left Team Tutberidze of her own will. She seemed so happy to be there; I know sometimes things can look misleading from social media, but it really was a very convincing impression of happiness and never looked fake to me.

Maybe more importantly from a pure athlete/coach point of view, her improvement in results was really staggering! Second place at Worlds! I really hope that Tursynbaeva hasn't just been evicted from training in Moscow for political reasons by bureaucrats who don't actually care about her. Can you imagine the heartbreak over this happening yet again?

Ksenia has been entered into the JGP in Russia and replaced Anna Tarusina

How about Gdansk then? Will she be doing back to back events? In Chelyabinsk she can certainly beat Vasilieva and maybe even Valieva. It's bit weird that they paired up two strongest girls from test skates, but if they go 1-2 there's not much difference.

So FFKKR are betting on two Silvers for Sinitsyna? 26 JGP points and hopefully a good total score should be sufficient for a place in the final. Fingers crossed for this exciting competitor :-)

And Tarusina is most likely out for JPG all together. When her knee is sufficiently strong again, any chance for a Challenger series before Russian National Championships?

Back to back shouldn't be that much of a problem for skaters of Kseniya's caliber, who seems to stay quite cool under pressure. Some athletes prefer to stay 'in the flow', periodisation for Kseniya, Kamila and any other of the Russian junior elite skaters poses no problems during the relative short span of JPG qualifiers.

There is still time for changing the assignments, and the 7th JPG qualifier in Egna is still closed for registration.

I even saw thumbnail of a youtube video (didn't watch it) with the title about her leaving Khrustanyi. People are fast in spreading rumors.:whack:

I guess one has to do with what the fed gives you if you happened to miss the competition that was originally assigned to you. Beggers can't be choosers... it shouldn't be too bad, though, and I'm happy she wasn't left with only one assignment, which totally could've happened.

Yes, I think Tarusina's JGP is over. And she needs to get well soon so she can enter the Russian Cup group stages. Otherwise no Russian Nationals for Tarusina.:sad4:

Well I still think they'll change Gdansk team. Khromykh is assigned together with Sinitsyna but she is unlikely to get a second event unless someone has a worse result. And I'm pretty sure Federation wants their skaters to be in the best shape.

About Tursynbaeva - that's insane that people made rumours out of one picture. Kanysheva or Valieva weren't there either, so did they changed coaches as well? Also, skaters don't usually leave their coaches less than a month before the beginning of the season.

Also, too bad about Anna T. She didn't get any GPs even though she was higher on SB list than Konstantinova or Sotskova and now she may be out of JGP as well.

Don't know why my comment was deleted here, I was expressing a valid concern by drawing a comparison with Mustafina's situation at American Cup in 2011. After that case, the russians stopped sending gymnasts in US for competitions :scratch2:

Fot those criticising rusfed, getting visas/passports and personal documents are actually the responsability of the athlete or if he/she is a minor - of the legal tutor, mostly parents. It's possible the paper work was not complete because of a personal mistake, but also maybe rusfed forgot to validate some documents.

Is this the ending of Alina's Cleopatra program? https://vk.com/eteritutberidze?w=wall-97272391_177917

Evgenia was fire in that red suit and stilettos:bow: https://twitter.com/evgeniagallery/status/1166583174866120704

Sad news from #TeamTutberidzeForProgress: suddenly Danill Gleikhengauz' mother passed away. Lyudmila Borisovna Shalashova was even at work in the rink yesterday.

" We offer our deepest condolences. Words are powerless.
Daniil, in this difficult time, your colleagues and friends are with you.
We will forever keep the blessed memory of Lyudmila Borisovna in our hearts. "

Alina Zagitova said about Lyudmila: " Lyudmila Borisovna works not only with the body, she helps me to fully get used to the images, to feel them. When we decided to stage Carmen, Eteri Georgiyevna and Daniil Markovich warned that I could not just skate this program, but I had to live it. I was not afraid - I knew who would help me. "

There are more testimonies of Lyudmila being close to the skaters, telling about the Bolshoi, sharing ballet gossip with the girls in the dressing room, etc.
As a grandmotherly figure, the neutral shoulder to cry upon, she will be missed for sure in the daily dynamics at Khrustalniy.

That's just terrible. Poor Daniil. Alina and the rest of the girls and boys who worked with her must be grieving also :sad46:

Oh no, it's so so sad. Must be a big shock to all skaters who didn't expect anything like that after working with her a few days before. And of course, deepest condolences for Daniil. He had to deal with a loss of both of his parents at such a young age. That's insane. Hope his friends, relatives, co-workers and students help as much as they can.
