2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Well, senior Tutberidze's ladies look ready to go.
Very impressive form for the beginning of September.

Is the geoblock removed? The individual clips are up at 1tv.ru, but I'd like to grad the whole broadcast for my archive.

anna was outstanding. the music, the choreo, her image, her feeling and of course the quality of her elements. and it was differnt

alina so much more refined

kosti a bit disapointing. she is loosing in tech. but of course overall still sublime

wasnt that a wonderful 3a from tukta?

zhenyas programm very nice and also her presents, but tech sorry that was a flutz

trusova just perfect, not pcs skater, but super ss - stepsq was better than kostis, very clever framed, and jumps just the best overall

samadurova not in form yet, this is going to be a tough season for her

konstantinova lovely programm, but i felt bit sorry for her in this group, everthing looks a bit laboured

Being petite and curvy doesn't cut it anymore in Russia's ladies skating, you need to be lean and muscular, an athlete in the physical sense. Being young helps, but Samodurova needs to work on her athletism to stay of relevance.

1F-1T as a combo
funny she land 3A but pop flip and toe. I think the entry to the flip is too difficult for her. Usually she only does one or two 3-turn. I noticed Zhenya 3T have less prerotation than usual, maybe thats why she didnt get enough height and time to rotate, hence the fall.

Wishing good luck to all ladies in the FP!

In order starting with my favourites here.

Alina Zagitova and Anna Shcherbakova were the best in the SP for me: elements were all super clean and rock solid, no question, but there was also a good performance level.

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva -> Very nice improvements on Skating Skills and transitions, the work with Shae Lynn paid off in that sense, the 3ltz entry with the back spiral was very effective, 3A looked so easy. The choreography is surprisingly good though i'd have liked to see the original program. Still needs work on the 3F-3T, maybe an easier entry, it's a relatively new combo for her.

Stanislava Konstantinova -> she changed the layout a bit compared to the Aurora Games, it is still one of my favourite SP i've seen so far from the Ladies. She's so elegant and expressive, more mature artistically, the program was almost clean apart from that 3ltz doubled.

Alena Kostornaya -> same program of last season, switched the flip and lutz.

Evgenia Medvedeva -> meh. The program is nice, i like that it ends with the steps sequence, Exogenesis part 3 is a bit overused in figure skating nowadays though. Interesting that she did the 3ltz in the second half, maybe an attempt to up the contents or just to make a good impression here, we'll see.

Alexandra Trusova -> the music suits her style, she was stone face all the time, i'd like to see a little more engagement with the music and the program, the elements were extremely well executed, beautiful cantilever, steps sequence was okay i guess, still a bit unrefined.

Sofia Samodurova -> One of the most engaging performance, she plays well with the audience, music a little repetitive towards the end, jumps aren't there yet. (keep in mind she started last season the same)

On 1tv.ru are fresh from the ice interviews, with the skaters still panting and flushed :-)
Is Olga Yermolina taking the inteviews?
Both Alina's and Anna's were lovely. They'll appear on YouTube soon most likely, where you can switch subtitles on.

Alina and Evgenia finally got the programs they deserved. What they showed today wasn't skating but art and mastery of their skill. I can finally watch them and enjoy their skating without thinking about results/mistakes.

I agree. My favorites of the day, easily. Both programs so fitting for the respective skater, show their strengths, and still leave room for growth.
