Look here, 6:24 mark, Anna is shocked, Daniil doesn't understand the scores either. I've watched some performances and Lombardia is a badly organised competition. Anna is the current RUSNAT champion, here she had a good program, maybe not stellar, but she was hugely underscored. Again, what is the point of such competitions? senior b? if they are not properly organised? Things like these are discouraging for the future

Of course being champion of RusNats is an achievement. It's a HUGE bloodbath. However, Shcherbakova was also beaten by Trusova and Kostornaia last season. Judges might be trying to figure out how the girls all rank against each other (including Alina, Zhenya, and Liza) and aren't sure what to do score-wise? Overall, it will be interesting to see what judges do over the course of the season. In the past, there have been very clear rankings among the top 3-4 Russian ladies, and they get scored accordingly, with everyone below them receiving more "mediocre" scores.
Just for example - in the Olympic season, Zhenya was number 1, with Alina close behind her, and Maria was the clear #3, far behind the top 2, and then there was everyone else who was just far below all of them (Alina became equal to and surpassed Zhenya as the season went on due to momentum + technical ability). Last season, Alina was clear #1 and Zhenya was clear #2, with a big question mark about who #3 would be. Then Liza made a huge comeback and made a solid case for #2, Zhenya struggled, Stanislava had decent results, Sofia was extremely consistent and won European champs, etc. But by the end of the season, it was 1. Alina, 2. Zhenya, 3. Liza, 4. Sofia/Stanislava.
But now three AMAZING juniors have moved to senior and no one knows how to "rank" the girls. Ideally, judges would just score what they see on the ice that day, but they don't and they never have. Your ranking within your own country matters, unfortunately.
