2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Another tradition of TeamTutberidze (apart from Anya repeating Alina's win at Lombardia): Alina set 3 world records at her first Challenger, Sasha set 2 now (and what records!!!).

True. Gleikhengauz stated in an interview the team staged Carmen for Alina is such an authoritative way, no skater would achieve the same impact with the image and music for quite some time.

{sotto voce} whose trumpeter's dead now? {/sotto voce} Maybe he thinks if he keeps saying it was a masterpiece loudly and long enough...

There's nothing egotistical about a choreographer wanting to create a program with the goal of it being the best and most memorable. Anything else is sabotage. You don't seem to have any understanding of his comment, or the job of a choreographer.

First sentence, perfectly true. But that doesn't mean that any choreographer who wants to do so by definition does it!

Zounger has already pointed it out. You repeatedly write Alina's name "alina".
As I said before blame auto correctur, and it doesn't really matter, as long as the name is right.[emoji23][emoji23] I also often have written other names not with a capital letter. My auto correctur has also written zhenyas alenas and anna's name small. More than one time for that matter. And yes I wrote all names in small letters this time.

Isn't it better to write the names correctly instead? Because the name is not right.

Why just because it's written with small letters? It's not that much of a fault. You all know who is meant since the name is written right. Heck my auto correctur more than once tries to write instead of Anna, Anne, instead of Alina, Aline or something else, etc. If you want to nitpick at my comments because sometime the names are written in small letters than do that I do not really care about it , that much.

For some reason, Daniil's name appears to "autocorrect" to "daniil" too. Hmm, puzzling, that.

Time when people rely on technology instead of their abilities. And I'm aware I make many mistakes and typos but they are not so "one-sided"

Luckily for me my system got it that I do not mean to write something like Daniel but that I meant dDaniil. In the beginning I probably wrote more than once in comments Daniel caused by auto correctur. And heck you now want to discuss and nitpick my writing really? It's not insulting or anything when names are written in small letters . If you want to make that a discussion point then do it Seems like you have nothing better to do , well then do it , i do not really care[emoji6][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

In this thread I'm not looking for VenusHalley's iconic programs from the times when triple jumps were vulgar word in a world of ladies skating.

Well, if you look at it by this optic, it would be perfectly okay to sneer at today's champions twenty or thirty years from now on, for having no quads, spinning too slow, whatnot. Will Alina stand the test of the time? I think with her Olympic program, yes, likely. But sneering at legends of the past because they could not do what skaters with much better equipment can do? Not really classy.

You want to go look up how many times I have other names including those I mentioned before in small letters? A lot of times. most of the time I write all names small ., for God's sake it doesn't mean anything. Get a life guys instead of trying to find soemthing which doesn't exist. No just cause one name is written small it's not an insult or anything else.

Do I even wanna know what's the discussion after reading about 5 posts from the last 15 pages? [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Is this the new level of pettiness? :dbana: This is a casual forum, not an academic essay, people can type however they want. What a ridiculous thing to point out.

What is classy about constant attacking Alina's program by comparing it with 30 years old one? Now, when she even doesn't skate it anymore? You can say "Alina's program is bad compared to Katarina's" (in some form), but saying otherwise is "not classy". Alina obviously lies in the belly of several people who constantly create some flame about her no matter whether it is actual or not, so I consider I can respond the same way.

Well they need to find something to tell people off, to find something to call them haters or what not. And now they apparently feel the need to look at one's writing of words. For me it's just ridiculous. Sorry but I can not take them seriously with what they are doing right now [emoji23][emoji6] well I say let them look and come up with some ridiculous conspiracy theories. Let's see how good they are .

Are some in here really and seriously having a discussion about names being written in capital letters or not? And even further, are these same people really looking into the spelling of others, analyzing it to find any potential malicious intent behind it? Don‘t you people have anything better to do?

This thread surprises me every time when I thought things couldn‘t become more ridiculous.

Anyway, Sasha lands quads today. Congrats, little history maker. Stasya had a rough skate and I‘m sad for her. She looked so good at the Aurora Games, fighter mode on and all. What happened here?

I’m worried for Masha, though. And I feel for her. She‘s gone through literal hell this year and people are already writing her off, saying she‘s “disposable“ and whatnot. For anyone who wants to listen, or doesn‘t want to listen, I don‘t care: Maria Sotskova is a strong person and she keeps on skating as a professional athlete and simultaneously excelling at university while mourning a parent. Reading some of the comments in here makes me angry. She can‘t control her assignments, it’s not her fault that she got a GP spot. And btw, none of you in here know whether she‘s “committed“ enough to skating. So, please stop assuming. I hope she has support to go through this hell of a time and that people tell her that she should be proud of herself instead of tearing her down even further. These girls are human beings, for goodness sake.

I was just thinking that - Alina is by all accounts a generous-minded and sweet-natured girl, does anyone think she would appreciate such piddling nitpickery on her behalf?

She did her darnest to make that Carmen look everything the choreographer thought he'd made it. Let's leave it at that, hmmm?
