I'm so happy for Aliona right now!!! I was afraid that she could be left behind but now I feel much more confident. With 3 3As she may even challenge Trusova.

judging by how comfortable she looked with both attempts, i think it's safe to say she's been practicing them in the program for a long time.

Isn’t it funny, how they didn’t go with „let’s start with one 3A from a regular entry“... they’re showing us 2 3A at a time, one in a combo, all done from very difficult entries, like who does that?

I don't think that is a surprise ... with her 2A with difficult entry it was a matter of time.... I think with equal TES ... No one can beat Kostornaia ( even with bad judging)... The question is: she is going to do 3A only in the FS or in both program? Because that 3A looks amazing so GOES won't be a problem ... but she will risk it in the SP ( where her program is excellent)?

On the other hand if she do it in the SP ... I think it's because the rate of perfect landing is already 110 % ... Eteri is very smart ...best weapon in Kostornaia is the PCS she won't risk that for a jump that isn't ready

I wouldn't be surprised if she just does 2A in the sp for a clean senior debut, but if she adds it to the sp on the gp circuit or at rusnats where she'll need it. If she hits it clean in the sp her score will be insanely high and she'll have a huge advantage going into the fs. At the same time, it'd be strange for her to go for two 3As in the free and none in the short. We'll just have to wait and see

Alena is now officially the 4th skater in the run for the third team spot: Scherbakova, Tuktamysheva, Medvedeva, and now Kostornaya. With 3 stable triple axels I would say that her chances are the highest of them all. So far it looks like 4A are playing the game with 3 seats only. Well, 2 of them: Alexandra and Alina have a very good security cushion. Will it be in the end between Anna and Alena? Can Liza beef up her tech content? What will Zhenya do?

Rusnats are getting more and more interesting.

Its the Tutberidize way!! They don't just like to surprise us, they like to stun us. Anything less just wouldn't be acceptable!!

Don't discard Tuktik so fast - if she skates her tech content clean (which she definitely can!) AND actually skates some planned choreo instead of turning everything into a "Hey, Romale!"-like dance, she's still a contender.

Russian ladies field is the most insane competition...
4A, Tuktik, Medevdeva, Sinitsyna will be participating in a bloodbath in seniors.
Meanwhile, there would be no less bloodbath in juniors. Jeez, the competition is getting more difficult every year, exponentially more difficult! Novices 2 Sofia’s with 3A and 3A/4T, Liza Berestovskaya with 4T are all coming too.

Actually, it may be a good thing if Alina's left out of European/Worlds. She has nothing left to prove, the spots for Russia seem to be in good hands with the 3A, so she could take the time to start training quads for the following season if she wants to remain competitive and go for a second olympic run.

Don‘t count your chickens before they‘re hatched and all that? If Liza upgrades her jumping layout even a bit, she can still compete. And actually, even without upgrading it she still has a chance! We don‘t know how the girls will skate and even though I consider Aliona to be better in pretty much every aspect, she hasn‘t even landed the 3A in competition yet. So... let‘s just wait.
