2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

can't liza potentially get 3rd (or better) with a clean program and 2 quad toes and 2 triple axels, and a 7 triple program (repeating axel and toe) if everyone else does poorly? i.e. alena falls on 3A, anna falls and +reps her quads, sasha falls on 3A and a bunch of quads in the free (probably still first), and zhenya botches a few jumps?

You can absolutely do two quads and two triple axels, just change one of the two 3Ts.

Trusova risking it again, and Kostornaya has more Axels than Tuktamysheva

The (planned) content of all the participants in the Russian Figure Skating Championship became known.

The short program will be contested at the Platinum Arena in Krasnoyarsk on December 27, and the free program on the 28th.

Note that almost all the students of Eteri Tutberidze repeat the content they performed in the Grand Prix finals. Only Aleksandra Trusova complicated her short program - she adds a Rittberger to the triple Lutz in cascade instead of a Toeloop.

Yelizaveta Tuktamysheva not only didn't declare a quadruple Toeloop, but also removed one triple Axel compared to the Chinese Grand Prix. The content of Yevgeniya Medvyedeva repeats what she performed at the Russian Grand Prix.

I don’t see how what you said contradicts what I said.
Liza can’t do 2x 4t, 3A AND 3T, that was my point.

Aleksey Mishin: “There are pros and cons in every system. But Tutberidze - is the leader of our figure skating - both athletically and mentally ”

Merited trainer of Russia Alexey Mishin spoke about the relationship between different coaching groups.

“You asked a very interesting question regarding the relationship of various coaching groups. Figure skating and its teams are divided into several groups. Some groups are close and friendly, some compete and contest, they have a neutral relationship, and the relations of some groups of coaches are somewhat tense.

How do I feel about the outstanding results that Eteri Georgiyevna Tutberidze shows? I call them outstanding because this is the term that matches the level of skill that her girls demonstrate.

If we talk about the fact that they are small, and when they grow up and stop jumping, they will become adolescents, there will be more feminine forms ... When I had students - like 4-5 men who could compete and defeat the other in World Championships - then I could talk about it.

And now Eteri Tutberidze is the most striking figure in the sky of our figure skating, so talking about the advantages of mine or hers (it makes no sense). Each system has its own advantages, and disadvantages.

By the demonstrating of results that her girls now show, she is the current leader of domestic figure skating - both athletically and mentally, ”

Mishin said in an interview with the YouTube channel of the 'Sport Day after Day' publication.

“I hope Alina will return”: Anna Pogorilaya about the pause in Zagitova’s career, scandals in figure skating and age limits

"I pity the Russian skaters - they have no hope for a healthy future." Finnish coaches urge to raise the age limit in women's skating

Finnish figure skating coaches have called on the International Skating Union (ISU) to raise the age limit for women’s skating to at least 17 years old.

Now skaters can compete in senior competitions from the age of 15.

“Raising the age limit is important from a psychological point of view. Girls' bodies change with age. Even at 16 it’s already difficult to do the elements that you performed before.

I hope ISU cares about the health of the skaters. I feel sorry for the Russian girls - they have no hope for a healthy future. Russians even have seven-year-old children plowing on ice for five hours a day, ”said Sirrko Kaipio, trainer of Emmy Peltonen.

“There is live evidence that, due to body changes and growing up, the skaters cannot make the elements that they used to do. There are many examples when skaters too young reached the top, and then disappeared. Most often, they left the sport due to injuries, problems with nutrition and motivation.

I also heard that Russian coaches use some forbidden methods, but I will not speculate on this, ” said Minna Järvinen, trainer of Jenny Saarinen.

Apparently the planned content sheets are out:

Trusova's has the triksel and 5 quads (!),
Shcherbakova plans 2 quads,
Kostornaya's seems unchanged, 1 and 2 triksels,
Tuktamysheva has no quad planned (but might of course still risk one).

What's this about a Gala in March for the national team? Does that mean the reserves on the national team too?

Five quads for sasha? She could fall twice and still win.

No I don't think so, if Sasha falls twice Aliona or Anya are gonna slip through. We saw it at GPF and I have a feeling that the judges are willing to not prop her if she falls twice

Sasha failed three times in GPF. Would she land that damn 3Ax, and no chance for the rest.

I would not say that, with the fall in the short she still had a 15 point difference to alyona who was in first place . I do not think she would have gotten 15 points for a landed 3a

From what I’ve read on here, I am to understand that Tuktamysheva has to get at least a Silver to guarantee herself a spot or the aforementioned backflips to leave her off the World’s team - in the form of a preordained....I apologize, I mean rigged competition entitled the Russian Cup or a “council” will occur. Got it. At least that was made clear beforehand. I won’t get my hopes up.

Yelizaveta Tuktamysheva
FS: 3A+2T, 3T(!!!), 3Lz, 3F, / 2A+3T+2T (!), 3Lz+2A+SEQ (!!), 3Lo

She better be trolling with that mess. I absolutely refuse to believe that’s her planned layout. That 3T is a typo. It’s supposed to be a 4T. The 3Lz+2A is also a mistake. I’m under the impression that she’s fired up and on a mission to prove a point. That layout is giving up and I hope I don’t see that from her.

Sasha failed three times in GPF. Would she land that damn 3Ax, and no chance for the rest.

The difference between Aliona and Sasha at GPF was more than 14 points. A 3A in SP wouldn't have been enough. The costliest mistake was the 2S. I think had she gone perfectly clean for LP she would have beaten Aliona (even with the 3A fall at SP), but it means two less mistakes.

Imo the margin Sasha has against Clean Aliona or Clean Anna is only one big mistake (a crucial one, like a doubling or a fall with <) and probably a minor mistake(a step out or a
< with no fall?).
