No changes in the Top 24. But some climbing below. Frolova gets a season's best.

Now only the Championships are left, next event will be European Championships next week.
I think it is very unlikely that anyone will get into the SB24 list at this point.
Maybe Ryabova or Hendrickx, but I think it will be very hard to crack this SB24 now.

Top 24 in the SB list, except juniors (J), are guaranteed at least one spot at the senior GP next year
Last year, to be in the Top 24 in the Seasons Best List you had to score 196.34.

I can't find one of my very favorites on there. What a waste. It's like she is in jail with no chance to be let out. SMH.

OMG @ Stasya and Maria! To be given such GP chances and come up with those hard to believe low scores is very sad.

So that's mean that maybe Tarakanova will have a shot to go seniors and have one GP event?

Yes!!

Sinitsyna was drawn to compete in Team Courage at YOG. With Levandi from Estonia, Butaeva/Berulava from Georgia, Yoshida/Nishiyama from Japan

And Frolova got drawn too! She's in Team Future. With Nalbone from Italy, Wang/Huang from China, Cherniavska/Muratov from Ukraine.

Only two of the top five girls get to compete and so it happens to be the Russian ladies.

The ladies will skate on Wednesday 14:30 CET.

I wouldn't bet on it, There is too many Russian girls in the top24. The World Standings List top 24 is also guaranteed a GP place and Samodurova (for sure) and Konstantinova will be there.
I think that Tarakanova and Vasilieva might be snubbed of GP spots next year and will be forced to compete in Juniors for another year.

I know! There are some girls in Russia that didn't get out to compete in international Challengers (and GPs) this year.
Gubanova, Tsibinova, Talalaykina, Guliakova, Leonova all deserved at least a chance to get on that SB list.
Let's hope they will at least get a Challenger next season (and Shulskaya too).

It seems that of Russians only Daniil Samsonov and Khavronina/Chirizano weren't drawn. Also Young You isn't in any of the teams.

By KS, do you mean Kseniia Sinitsyna? Because if so, I‘m confused. I was always impressed by how cool she was, like, literally. She looks like nothing would faze her, even when she was disappointed by her skate today. Of course, she‘s a teenager, so probably she will have her emotional moments as well and it looks like nerves affected her today. She’s just a very talented girl in an absolute pressure cooker that is Russian ladies skating. She has time to learn.

I don‘t know what the problem is with Panova and her students lately but many have been leaving her. I think training conditions aren‘t too good at her rink, there‘s not enough ice time, other coaches at CSKA and Sambo probably get more funding. I guess that‘s one of the reasons. But she’s just seemed weird to me lately and idk why. And then there’s also Frolova leaving mid-season which is also unusual, as far as I know. Maybe it‘s because Panova this season is just a total contrast to how I remember her from the JGPF with Kansyheva last year.

Yes KS. there was another incident which her coach they were yelling at each other after a performance or something like that something you never say. The FED needs to get control of Panova.

Yes Nuss the Volvo cup kiss and cry was very strange. Something is going on there.

Why didn't Russia send their best 2 junior girls to the youth Olympics? Injuries?

There were only two spots. Vasilieva was meant to be sent instead of Frolova, but got injured. Usacheva and Valieva are too young (14 is the youngest age).

Not sure if I like how random it is who gets to compete in this event.

Agree. It's very random.

Here is the average placing of each team

1. Team Focus 5,5 (with Kagiyama)
2. Team Courage 5,75 (with Sinitsyna)
3. Team Vision 6,25 (with Mozalev)
4. Team Determination 7,0
5=. Team Motivation 7,25
5=. Team Future 7,25 (with Frolova)
7. Team Discovery 7,5
8. Team Hope 8,0

What a disgrace to bury so many Russinas! :disagree: Not even a stinkiing challenger for these 5 girls? LOL! But the joke is on us and especially the skaters who are giving their lives to the sport draining their parents bank accounts in the process.

Kseniia probably is one of the three best juniors. I bet that Kamila is still in a need of some recovery, as far as I know she had to persuade Eteri pretty intesively to let her compete at JGPF (though at EoI she looked all well). As for Daria, I think her chances would be higher than those of Anna Frolova, on the other hand it makes sense to me to send skaters from some other teams sometimes, to gain more experience and all, even for the prize of "not winning everything". It can't always depend on one team, though it shows once again how Eteri's school is valuable for Russia.

Edit: I've failed to realize that Kamila and Daria are born in 2006, not 2005, how the age restriction for YOG required.:bang:

Sinitsyna again acted funny coming off the ice, even Chris Howard noticed ....

There seems to be no love lost between Frolova/Davydov and Sinitsyna/Panova, completely ignoring each other. So when both girls get the favourite draw ....

Quotes given to ROC:

“ I am very upset that I could not show my best skating,” said Frolova. “I really wanted to do it, but I was too excited. The atmosphere at the Games is just wonderful, I am very pleased that I performed here. And to be on the podium at such competitions is great, I'm very glad.

My goal for the rest of the season is to complicate my program, to develop what I have. Quadruples? I think that we need to work on everything. And on the ultra-si elements too. ”

“ I was counting on the first place,” Sinitsyna said. “But I made a grave technical error. I can’t say that I was very worried, but there’s nothing to be done. Youth Olympic Games are a good experience. Silver is good, but I will continue to work to show better results. ”

Why cant everyone be like Eteris girls! :agree: The tension with these 2 teams is real.

JPF was 5 weeks ago. Kamila should have been there. She is by far the best Russian junior. She beat Alysa at JPG final not even at her bext. She would have done the same at the youth olympics and she will never be in a youth olympics now. I keep hearing how important the youth olympics are, If so Kamila should have been there. Hope she is ready for jumior rusnats and junior worlds. This Korean girl You is a real threat at junior worlds along with Alysa. Maybe the days of Russian girls sweeping junior podiums is over. And will these judges get tired of so many Russian girls winning so much on senior and junior levels? I imagine so.

Focus has potentially the highest chance, apart from Kagiyama they have Tyutyunina/Shustitskiy for ice dance and they were second. Panfilova/Rylov will have it hard, they are the only ones in their team Discovery who will carry them placement. And team Hope is, sorry to say, hopeless.

Kamila and Daria could NOT have gone to the Youth Olympics because they‘re too young. You have to be 14 years old. If they‘d been eligible, I‘m sure they would have been offered a spot, considering that they both medaled at JGPF.
