So far this season in the ladies event in CS, GPs and Championships

we have

62 results over 200 points (33 are Russian - Kostornaia 5, Trusova 5, Shcherbakova 5, Tuktamysheva 5, Medvedeva 3, Valieva 3, Zagitova 3, Sinitsyna 3, Usacheva 1)

42 jumps/combinations over 13 points (38 are Russian - Trusova 19, Shcherbakova 7, Valieva 5, Sinitsyna 4, Usacheva 1, Tarakanova 1, Khromykh 1)

Sorry I think people sometimes forget that this is the 4A fanfest and there isn't any criticism allowed, or any speech that isn't yes and amen about their skating. Some people just really don't get what the russian lady thread is about smh.

No, it’s just some users choose to focus and repeat their criticism every single time multiple times on a handful of skaters or a particular skater, and they do that pretty much every single time they post.
All the while, making it look like „they’re da worst“ „they’re cheating“ and implying malice intentions(?).
At certain point, it gets tiresome, and people choose to speak back saying „we get your point, you don’t need to repeat that for 2000th time, since we understood it the first 1000th time“, or „stop trolling“.
Sorry, but annoyance with fairly excessive repetition of the same thing is not the same as „ignoring the issue“. The other thing is, people might disagree on these things, and if they say that they don’t agree, it doesn’t mean again that someone’s „ignoring the issue“.

And by no means I would ever agree Alina’s lutz edge is the same as Evgenia’s, which the other poster above tried to make it to be

I agree with your assessment. After reading: "Evgenia Medvedeva.... I still see SOME flaws in her technique, such as the lutz edge. Anna Shcherbakova.... her lutz edge is INSIDE" it sort of cries for itself.

No there isn't. Her most difficult combination is 3F+Eu+3S but she has never received over 13 points for it in an international competition.

But judges so much "like" Trusova, they always minimize her GOE.

Shcherbakova's combo is worth more though, as she gets GOE on her Lutz and Trusova gets GOE on her Toe which is worth less. That it's backlogged doesn't matter as you don't get GOE on the 10% bonus. So the three highest scoring combos this season has indeed been Shcherbakova's 4Lz+3T.

In combos you only get GOE on the most difficult jump, the other jumps +10% bonus doesn't get any GOE. The BV for a 4Lz is 11.50 and a Toeloop 9.50. If you get GOE 3 on both jumps that means 30% of the BV

4Lz 11.50+30% = 14.95 points
4T 9.50+30% = 12.35 points

So that's why Shcherbakova's 4Lz+3T scores better than Trusova's backlogged 4T+Eu+3S.

The full score for both combos with a GOE+3 will then be
4Lz+3T = 19.15 points
4T+Eu+3S in second half = 18.58 points

Sof'ya Samodelkina will turn 13 on February 18.

She is on the preliminary start lists of both Russian Cup Finals in KMS and in Moscow Championships for the Older Age. She finished fourth in the recent Russian Championships for Juniors, but had a few rough landings from her triksels.

Will Sof'ya compete cleanly this time, as probably the only girl with triksels under her command?

Yes and I am repeating all this for a 2000th time mainly because of the ISU officials, who I am sure are reading this forum. I hope that If many people complain, the rules are going to be changed - slow motion reviewing for the jumps, deduction of excessive prerotation and bad edges, higher GOE for toe pick assisted jumps, etc.

In this video, her edge is totally flat. I didn’t want to post it, cause it looks like I’m hating on Alina, but I’m absolutely not. At the Olympics, her edge was perfect. Please, don’t think I’m hating on Alina, she’s one of my favorites.

I srsly don’t understand the purpose of coming in here daily and bringing these technical discussions into a thread that is meant to discuss and update the goings on of Russian Ladies skating.

Can we change the thread back to State of Russian Ladies skating like it used to be.

IMO good points don’t need repeated. They will stand on their own merit
