Saw some former skaters post on Twitter like Kristi Yamaguchi that it would be a great idea if skaters posted their Free skates online so that we can have our own World Championships online! Seems like Sasha was the first to post hers! Hope the others follow suit

Ideal laboratory conditions to apply The Tutberidze Effect at full strength ;-)

Aleksandra probably cleanly skated >75% of the control training run throughs over the season, there is no guarantee she could have repeated this performance in the World Championships.

She would have wanted to though, and so would we :-)

#РаботаемДальше и ТолькоВперёд, #TeamTutberidzeForProgress does Never Rest !

Is Elena Kostyleva still with "Khrustalnyi"?
VK Tutberidze group doesn't inform about her scores, only about Rubtsova, Zhilina and Petrosyan.

Also, any news why Akatieva and Samodielkina don't participate?

Kostyleva was guided by different trainers today.

The Sof'ya's probably have gotten a bye from FFKKR. They have competed at their best often enough and proven themselves more than once, even in direct confrontation.

They might still compete in the Russian Supremacy for the Elder Age, come April.

who is all confirmed or likely to turn senior next season?

Kamila, Maiia and Daria are junior again, Tarakanova won't get a GP, Sinitsina probably?

and we will still have Medvedeva, Tuk, and a possible Zagitova, Konstantinova is not a threat at this point.

i'm brainstorming how likely the current world team will repeat again as the world team next year...i think there is a good chance if they all stay healthy and puberty isn't hard on them.

Sinitsyna will probably go senior next year, I hope.

Then there's Tarakanova and Vasilieva. I don't think they will have yet another junior season.
It is possible though they might find themselves in no-mans-land like Gubanova.

Some of it might depend on how ISU deals with rankings and qualifications now the World Championships have been cancelled and perhaps postponed.

ISU big heads have a lot to deal with right now, there is still this congress planned in a posh Puket resort. Perhaps all those delegees would want to rather abstain from business class flights and 5 star hotels at ISU's expense to brood over age limits, banning quads, etc. now there is whole new reality to deal with at short order? :dev2:

There was full PentaQuad Trusova's program published with all five done. Don't know if it a recent test run or one from better times.
I'm pessimistic here as having WC-2020 cancelled looks like a death warrant signed for Sasha's career...

I think Sasha will be fine. Sure, this season was a little rough for her, but now she can put it all behind her and look forward to next year! I'm sure she'll come back with a vengeance in September/October.

why? Despite not having any major international wins, she still won both her GP events and medalled at the rest of them. she still established herself as one of the top Russian and senior ladies in the world.

Well, Sasha was my favorite for gold so good for her to be first

And great idea for all of them to show their performances online, with or without costumes!

Princess Sasha skating her program, while peasants Alina and Alyona jumping tires.
Queen Anna doing nothing.;)

The thing though with Sasha this season has been that she has looked good at these runthroughs, but then choked at competition. I think her problem has been more psychologically. We will never know what she had done with a full audience at Worlds. Maybe her ghosts would have come back.

Goddamn, all hail the quad queen!
She’s so amazing! Such a hardworking and fearless kid!

Surely it would mean that the Seasons Best List that I posted at page 1075 now is the final list of the season. Which means that when RusFed chooses who to send to GPs is based on that. Same thing with the World Standings List where both Samodurova and Konstantinova are safe within the top 24.

As for juniors or seniors for Tarakanova/Vasilieva next year, I think RusFed will push them both into seniors. BUT, although Vasilieva is #23 on the SB list, I think Rusfed might not give her a GP assignment anyway (just like Gubanova this year). Vasilieva missed both RusNats and JrNats and RCF due to injury, which was not good.

I fear no-mans-land for both Tarakanova/Vasilieva I'm afraid.

I think FFKKR should strictly apply its recently revised criteria and do away with any protection. There are too many skaters on the waiting list and quite a few seniors who haven't delivered this season. Tough choices will have to be made and some hard verdicts passed. I think it is morally wrong to block talent from advancing. Perhaps more test skates and stricter monitoring of actual work and progress being made?

That is definitely not "from better times", but current. You can clearly recognize it from the details of the choreo.

Sambo should broadcast an in house competition or ice show with 3a facing off against each other and even invite some other guest skaters. They could probably make a decent amount of money by selling a livestream/on demand link worldwide and fill our void over the WC cancellation.

Just thinking out loud here :)

Most likely. Plus, #TeamTutberidzeForProgress never cheats. They have a reputation to uphold of honour and valour :-)

Just hoping the planned March 29 Russia Forwards and April tour of Tutberidze's Show of Champions don't get cancelled in the spreading panic. Less than 5000 spectators events? An arbitrary number ...
We'll see how the social, medical and political situation in Russia evolves.
