2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

Her mother (Irina Kostyleva) as it turned out is a very scandalous and unpleasant person. Here (in the comments ) you can read how she scolds Rozanov, how she discusses in mocking tones another girl (who, apparently, she perceived as a rival of her daughter)

- Are you done with "Khrustalnyi"?

- Yes, Alexander, you are right. Sergey Rozanov is DEFINITELY not Lenochka's coach. We are gave him a seven-year-old baby on a platter with all the triples and 2A, and HE... decided "to drown" her because of his personal PROJECT. WITH such a coach, she is NOT on the way.

- What do you mean by Project?

- This is an athlete of the same age as Lena, which he train more than a year, but so far in vain - at her only competition she doin nothing: 2Lz+2T with UR - four judges rated -4, one judge -3, and double with two foots  Other parents told me that the "crown fell off her head" :) when my Lena came to the group, so her mummy was gloomy for half a year!!!! You can find this girl in instagram - she didn't know how to skate normally yet, and her crazy mother was already PR - ,,in figure skating, this happens !" And I would be ashamed to show THIS. The worst thing is that such envious CREATURES, whose children are usually INCOMPETENT, put a stick in the wheel and poison the life of talented children. GOD is their JUDGE !!! But everything in our life has to be paid for. Alexander, you have communicated with Lenochka 's mother - Irina.

Disgusting. She's just a stereotypical "mean FS mom". I thought it was only in movies or gossip stories. And they are here - in real life. And the worst part is that she doesn't even see herself from the outside. She probably thinks that she's a saint.

Just read the russian original comment.
I don’t know what’s true what’s not, maybe Sergej is a bad coach and all that, but the way this woman is mocking another kid, and calling other parents names (creature probably isn’t the exact translation, since the word she used is more of a curse word), is not something I can stand behind.

Russia's Ministry of Sports has removed Konstantinova from the reserve list and added Gulyakova.

What brought this about? Stanislava's lack of competitive results? Her personal wish? Her switch to a commercial rink (perhaps on a full sponsorship)?

https://www.minsport.gov.ru/2019/doc/FigurKatanie_sp2019-20-izm6.pdf

Why should one wish to get removed from the national team?!

Anyway, it was logical, Stanislava has streak of horrible results and Guliakova seems to be doing fine.

Sankt Peterburg has decreed no public events over 1000 people in attendance until the end of April.

So Tutberidze's Show of Champions is one stop down. When the other regions follow (Tatarstan, Ural, Krasnodar), it will most likely be cancelled.

FFKKR is already cancelling competitions, still on the calendar are major events likely Spartakiad Finals (March 16-20 in Krasnoyarsk) and Russian Ultimate in the Older Age (April 3-5 in Krasnodar) , depending on how the public health situation evolves. i.e. the exponential rate of infections and people taken ill.

Many big shows and spectacles in Moscow are being cancelled.

Analyzing the situation with Russian FS.
It looks more and more like it was 18 y.a. after the SLC Olympics.
Tarasova explained in her video interview to 1st TV.
- The situation looks good but it's completely wrong. There are much lesser number of god skaters now...

Oh, yes, now I understand completely... not!

I've never seen Russian ministry of sport making decisions removing/icluding individual skaters in the middle of a season.
Do you recall anything like that?

Well, of course 'before it was better'

Russia had much more quality skater before 10s,somehow after Slutskaya Russia had only 2 Medals(and obviously no gold) until Liza won gold in 2015.

Situation was better back then, yet, somehow in the last 2 olympic cycles Russia won more olympic medals than before, that 'before' is 106 years long.

Situation was so much better back then that Russia had entire 3 medals during 00s at JWs, compare that to poor showing of modern Russian figure skating: In the last 2 JWs alone Russians managed to win 4 medals.

It was so quiet back then, now even 8 years old Russian kids get their jumps published on English language networks,at 11 years old Vornika Zhilina has Fan page, the most well known English language FS commentator goes to Russia to cover Junior Championships. Why don't this people think how bad is so much publicity for the Little kids?

And skating? what about Skating? New Russian skaters don't know how to Skate, Especially Kostarnaia is horrible at skating, Look at Valieva, in pursuit of Quads she forgot how to skate and spin at all. Her spins are so bad, horrible.

And that about team depth? It's not Like Russian reigning (on a serious note, she will stay so for a while unfortunately ) World champion and OC was pushed out of team in a fair competition and it's not like Russia has literal platoon of Skaters capable of Getting 200+ on their good day.

What about programmes ? It's not like anybody cares about Julia's Schindler's List or Alina's Don Quixote, Or Medvedeva's Sailor Moon, or Kamila's Girl on the Ball or Anna's Perfumer or... well, you got the point, these girls and these performances are forgotten, nobody cares.

and by the way, in the past, grass was greener, при союзе лучше жили, какую страну развалили, Свободу Анжеле Дэвис!

It is amazing how Worlds was cancelled. So far it has been not held only for 7 years (because of WWI) and again for 7 years (because of WWII).

It was also cancelled in 1961 when the entire American team died in a plane crash. 16 times total including this year's cancellation.

A new program for Alina - Notre Dame de Paris! Perhaps someone who speaks Russian can translate the caption better as the Instagram translation didn't really make sense to me, but it sounds like she was invited to Worlds to perform in the Gala? Either way, she'll be performing it in upcoming shows! Can't wait to see her skating again :luv17:

DG: The cancellation of the world championship was discouraging, a lot of effort from our athletes and the coaching staff to prepare, but everyone understands, and health is above all! Alina and I were preparing a surprise for everyone, a new production in which Alina will appear as the beautiful Esmeralda from the musical Notre Dame de Paris! She was invited to the World Cup Gala as a nominee for the ISU Skating Awards. Now the main thing is that everyone takes care of themselves and their loved ones, so that those who are ill do recover! And you will be able to see our beautiful girls and Alina’s new programme in the show “Russia, Forward” on March 29!
.

Thank you JazzUp! :thank: It's really too bad, I would've loved to see Alina at Worlds. Oh well, makes me even more excited for the show!
