2019-20 Russian Ladies' Figure Skating

I think most of the transfer cases happen after some severe disappointments, but didn't they post that 5-quad clean run-through of hers, indicating there's been no concern regarding her jumping abilities?
If the rumours are true, there must have been some serious luring going on from Plushenko's camp. Like him or not, right after winning Russian novice championships with Titova, he threw down another gauntlet before Eteri's feet! :dev3:

Well, one clean run-through doesn't really mean anything in my opinion - it could have been the only clean one in weeks of trying. Or maybe she'd been doing clean run-throughs consistently before GPF, nationals and Euros too - only to not be able to do it in a competition environment.

If it's true I imagine there's more going on.

RT claimed that she is in talks with other coaches too, hopefully she goes somewhere...anywhere else.

Oh dear god, I can believe it! Is this true?!
And Plushenko out of all coaches???
O_o

It's not true until it's confirmed. this would make absolutely no sense as plushenko has had no success as a coach with anybody other than his six-year-old son. LOL!

Eteri got Sasha to become this phenom Supergirl doing things no girl had ever done in figure skating. She was not a super girl or an incredible novice skater before she got to this coach. No one leaves EG and gets better. The skaters that leave eteri see their scores drop massively. Like I said no one leaves EG and gets better but this will be the ultimate test of that if it happens because Sasha is so young. Please keep her away from Plushenko and the butcher Buyanova.

If there are problems with Alexandra maybe it's having to face aliona the most beautiful skater there is and Anna ballerina everyday in practice. it can't be easy for Sasha to look at two girls who are clearly better skaters and artists than she is and who are more consistent than she is.

But at this point let's hope it's not true.

as shocking as this is, please anywhere but Plushenko...

that Sport24 article is wild. of course the claims about Anna and Zhenya are just rumors at this point, but...wow

That’s what I thought! Sasha could do her uber-complex routines there and she just learned her 3A this season, doesn’t look like a “neglected” athlete to me. Perhaps there’s more to it, what we will learn later on, but right now is looks like a career suicide to me.
Tarakanova, Sakhanovich did not do well under Plushenko and were quite vocal about it.
Sasha is such a talented kid, if she feels like it, it’s her decision, I just pray that Plushenko helps her to achieve all her goals.

I thought all year there was a problem between team Eteri and Team Trusova. It seemed as if she already had one foot out the door. On the one hand, Plushenko claims his wife can do better by the skaters in terms of endorsement income. I hope this is the right move for her, but I rather doubt it. I think she would have been better off in Sochi with Urmanov. Still, it is sad to see the end of 3A.

Why? Is Plushenko (or to be exact Volkov) that much worse than other Russian coaches?

1. Disliked Plushenko long before I started following FS, so I don't want to see a skater who made me start watching FS actively going there.

2. I am not going to blame her for that but after everything that happened during this season, it's probably not like going from Real Madrid to Barcelona but it's surely like going from Lakers to Celtics. As Khrustalny supporter, obviously don't want to see it happening.

3. There are much better and accomplished coaches in Russia (and elsewhere) than Volkov who hasn't talked trash about Alexandra.

Not Buyanova too...
Panova, Davydov, Rafael Arutyunyan, I can see Sasha do well with them. Plushenko is the wildest card out of all coaches, especially before Olympics.

As much as the latest results of her aren't really screaming 'hire me!', she has much more accomplishments on her name than Plushenko and Volkov combined.

RT, that’s Vaytchekhovskaya talking, right?

Let’s not blame Aleksandra over any of this, but perhaps her parents. As a 15 year old she can hardly oversee the consequences.

Is she feels happier in another training environment, who are we to criticize her over this?

For the Plyushchenko enterprise, this will be their major challenge. And long sought after chance to break Khrustalniy. But if Aleksandra stays enrolled in Sambo-70, her new ‘owner’ will not reap the reward of distinction from Trusova’s future victories.

Plyushchenko’s Angels abhors state funded athletes and the whole system of Olympic Reserve schools, so Aleksandra might loose more than her stipend if she breaks with Sambo-70.

Kamila will fill in nicely. ;)

She can't stay enrolled if she joins another club; and Layshev from Sambo-70 has confirmed that she won't already.

It was almost official after RT(hate it or love it, it rarely goes wrong and is very professional) but TASS is basically Russian BBC, so yeah, it's over.

Anyway, if you are Alina's fan, that is a good news

Layshev says that this is not a surprise, since Sambo-70 girls constantly receive offerings (from other coaches to move to them).
Uh, that’s so sad. Why not Rafael though, he would be happy to train Sasha, I’m sure.
