Hanna Harrell has withdrawn from nationals, according to a tweet from Phil Hersh.
:sad21: I'm sorry for her. It must be serious for her to withdraw from Nationals. Was there a reason given?
With Ting and Hanna gone, 4-5 is wide open for Amber, Starr, Emily, Karen, and Sarah. If Emily is clean, I think she'll end up fourth and be sent to either 4CC or Junior Worlds OR both.
Predictions
1-3. Mariah Bell/Alysa Liu/Bradie Tennell
4. Emily Zhang
5. Amber Glenn
6. Starr Andrews
7. Karen Chen
8. Sarah Jung
9. Gracie Gold
10. Courtney Hicks
I hope and pray that Hanna and Ting will both be fully recovered, healthy, and come out banging next season. Best of luck to our ladies.
She doesn’t have the junior minimums yet. Skaters have to compete in a junior competition to get them.
If a young skater like Emily places & scores high enough at Nationals, there should be time to earn junior minimums afterward. Tyler Pierce, I think, did it the last year she went to Junior Worlds.

Agreed! Plenty of time & opportunity to earn that JW min at internationals slated after Nationals.
Also, I am saddened to read of Hannah's withdraw - that, in addition to Ting's, pretty much wipes out the newish skaters who shined at last years nationals.
.I know it was a junior event with slightly different rules but the score was low for Emily at Mentor- GRacie could beat her if you look at Emilys score of 105 recently in the freeskate. wouldn't it be wonderful to see Gracie on the podium including pewter.
Emily beat Gracie head-to-head at both Regionals and Sectionals.

Emilt tends to tank the short and comes roaring back in the long. I think it has happened that way at Nationals 2 years running.True, but Gracie improved so much between the two competitions so it’s harder to gauge how much Gracie has progressed since then and if nerves or whatever was going on with Emily at mentor cup will impact her performance at nationals. I think aside from the probability of the top three, there is a wide array of who could be in the top ten.
