2020 Skate America: Pairs' FS

I know we all rag on Danny for his costume and hairstyling choices but really, he is a beautiful skater to watch.
If only he had a more suitable partner.

My initial impression of him tonight was "Boy does he have sexy posture" but wondered if I had over sampled the adult beverage I poured to accompany dinner/skating snacks.

Why can't skaters get illusion fabric that matches their skin tone?

I did think Tara & Danny had a better twist lift today, I still do not like the cheesy somersault into a throw. It always seems choreographically jarring, no matter what music accompanies the movement.

Ashley's brunette hair is growing on me. I would love to see some highlights to make it not look so obviously dyed but I think the shade is really flattering on her

I think they'll grow into this program. She had some jump issues, but she landed both throws in the program, so that was good to see.

I think that was the best twist I’ve ever seen from CG/L! And she landed the throw on one foot! Wow!

Yup! But you can always tell when hair is dyed when it is all the same shade. Natural hair color has dimension and covered up her longtime blonde (fake but still pretty) with dye

Nope sorry, Rach 2 doesn't fit them at all.

Not to mention none of the choreo even hits the musical highlights.

Much better skate than last night, though pity about the fall. I actually like Rach 2 for them, and I'll like more once they let go and enjoy the movement fully.

Pretty good skate for Ashley and Tim. That end position though — no, never do that again, please.

I feel like they need to just spend a few weeks experimenting with different lifts that will work with their height, rather than looking ponderous.

Those triple loops don't seem to work that well for them. Either there's a fall or a stumble or they're given an underrotation. Maybe time to go to an easier triple?
