No, it hasn't. It's not for a couple of months.
Now, his being registered for sectionals doesn't necessarily mean he will compete (a bunch of the people on that list will not, almost assuredly). But his being registered does show he is still competing.

No, it didn't. That was the Skate Ontario "August Performance Opportunity". It's not the same thing as sectionals. Sectionals happens in the fall.

The new issue of IFS includes a feature on Laurence & Nikolaj. Their RD is a George Michael medley ("Careless Whisper", "I Want Your Sex", and "Freedom"), while they are as generally expected keeping their FD. Nikolaj says they are not planning to retire after the Olympics, and hope to continue at least until 2024; and also that his citizenship should be finalized within a month.

I’m delighted to hear they are continuing, as I quite like them. I wish they were not keeping that FD, though. I don’t think it really shows off their strengths. Maybe they will at least ditch the voiceover? (Please?)

i hold judgment on that FD until we see it again.. it was so fresh last year.... and not that convincing.. but with a few adjustments, it may be great...(including eliminating the voice overs in the adjustments LOL)

May I say that I am very entertained by this idea, and that I appreciate Canada’s willingness to provide a home to those pursuing unconventional paths into pairs like Nic, Deanna Stellato, and Vanessa James, to name a few.
i also want to see this new pair skate to the music Nic was going to use for his last singles season—the Doors

Except Nic is Canadian by birth and has always skated for them. But to switch to pairs at his age, after so much relative success in singles, including a medal at Junior Worlds! That’s unusual, even if he hasn’t also switched countries.
I’m happy that Nicolas has found a new home in Canadian pairs. And of course every skater has their story of how they got to where they are, but some of them are especially interesting.

Good start for Kaiya at Courchevel II; other than the combination, all the details were sharper than last week, especially the spins. Currently in third, a few points back of second and 4-6 points ahead of a couple of other skaters who’ll be jockeying to get ahead in the free.
EDIT: Not a perfect skate for Wesley, but in a frankly disastrous field it was enough for first place and a wide lead.

I am very intrigued by this. I always thought the guy looked so strong. I bet he'll make a good partner.

He was the class of the field today, that’s for sure!
From what I saw, many of the other competitors struggled quite a bit. (I am channeling my inner Ted, by phrasing it this way.)

Although not squeaky clean, he was far cleaner than his competitors today.
But, aside from that, I felt like he was the strongest in general skating and interpretation, too. The gap was larger than it would have been had his competitors skated better, but the performance was admirable, even without relative comparison to the others.

yes there has been a buzz because Wesley is learning the big jumps quite early... he grew up a lot during covid which seems to have helped his skating a lot... he usually attempts quads in the LP. You missed the buzz like many because Wesley was not able to compete for a while.. but we, Canadians, have been following him... great news as well, he is not at champs

Wesley was novice champ a couple of years ago and then made his JGP debut in 2019 (at the last JGP held prior to this year, in fact), back when he was still only doing a double Axel. After that, obviously, competitive opportunities were quite scarce for a while. He showed up in the summer comps attempting the bigger elements with a decent success rate, and is one of Canada's better (arguably best) teen male skaters at the moment.
