I feel pretty confident Lindsay for a Senior B or Challenger later in the fall. Even if she doesn't make it to the Olympics, she has a good chance of getting named to 4CCs and she'll want the senior tech minimums for that. I'd bet that her team/USFS is waiting to see how she does at her second JGP and whether it looks like she'll make the JGP Final (not that we have any clarity on that yet...) since that would impact her overall schedule.

Is it just me or is Alysa totally getting lowballed PCS? Im not comparing her to anyone else in particular, but I look at that short program and think she should be getting the highest scores in performance, interpretation, and choreography. But she only averaged 8.1 in all those categories.
I think Alysa has some of the PCS in all Women's skating currently. She was absolutely stunning in her SP, and has transformed into being such an amazing performer, as well as improving the other parts of her PCS. She was definitely underscored in that category, and whether it is early on in the season or not, she should have been scored higher.

I wonder if Lindsay will go for the triple axel in the free program. I am guessing not, but Adeliia Petrosian will probably go for the quad toe again. It will be a really tough battle in the FS, especially with Samodelkina's crazy jumps, the top 2 being practically in a tie, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd only within 0.62 points!

She is certainly in the Mix to win her event. How solid is her 3A? I've never seen her land one. I hope she goes for a program that she can execute well. If she skates clean, she'll be on the podium, and with close scores she might just win this event.

After watching her SP, I think our current senior ladies need to watch out for this young lady. Like Isabeau, she is a wonderful performer with beautiful body line and extension. Love her....

I believe the closest she's come in competition is standing up on a 3A< but I think that's true of Amber too, right?

She is still one of the slowest (much improved indeed).

IMO she looked pretty fast here, at least on camera. i'd like to see her fly into the jumps just a little more, but overall it was not slow to me. i thought her interpretation was much improved here too, there was a time or two i even saw her emoting.

i'm not too concerned by her PCS. yes i think she deserved a bit higher, but with consistency she will build that score up throughout the season. it's the very beginning of the season and she still has a reputation as being slow and juniorish with the international judges, so i fully expect that to change.

In comparing the SP scores from the current junior and senior comps (yes I know we should not do that but still), Alysa had a lower score than Lindsey. They did the same jumps but LT had higher scores (+GOE) and they were about even on the non-jumps elements. On the PCS side, AL was a little higher but again overall LT had a higher score. So the opinions some have that Lindsey could make the Olympic team seem valid. Of course we still have the LP....

I guarantee head to head if both are clean in the SP Alysa will get a much bigger score Lindsey's weaknesses are more exposed skating against senior ladies.
